W1. The JWs Are Right

THE JEHOVAHS WITNESSES ARE

RIGHT
By Homer Duncan
Missionary Crusader

Yes, they are right in some things, but wrong in all of the major doctrines of the Word.
They are:
Right in believing that the Bible is the Word of God.
Wrong in thinking that the Bible cannot be understood apart from the literature published by the
Watchtower Society.
Right in believing in creation rather than evolution.
Wrong in believing that Jesus Christ is a created being.
Right in teaching the resurrection of Christ.
Wrong in teaching that He was raised as a spirit person.
Right in believing that Jehovah is the only true and living God.
Wrong in rejecting the doctrine of the Trinity.
Right in believing that Jesus is the son of God.
Wrong in not believing that He is God the Son.

Right in believing that Jesus is Mighty God.

Wrong in not believing that He is Almighty God.
Right in honoring and worshiping Jehovah.
Wrong in not recognizing that Jesus is Jehovah, and in refusing to worship Him.
Right in believing in unity.
Wrong in believing that the Watchtower Society is Jehovahs Theocratic Organization.
Right in recognizing that the Bible speaks of pure religion.
Wrong in thinking that the Watchtower Society is the one true religion.
Right in recognizing the importance of good works.
Wrong in believing that works are a condition of salvation.
Right in teaching the Second Coming of Christ.
Wrong in believing that Christ returned in 1914.
Right in believing in the Kingdom of God.
Wrong in believing that it is being established through the Watchtower Society.
Right in believing that the Jewish Law taught against drinking blood.
Wrong in their teaching against blood transfusions.
Right in translating in the Word of God.
Wrong in perverting the New World Translation to suit their own doctrines.

Six Reasons Why The Jehovahs Witnesses Come Up

With The Wrong Answers
1. They believe that since the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society (WT) is Jehovahs Theocratic
Organization that it is the sole channel for the dissemination of truth. They accept, therefore, the
information that the WT feeds them without questioning the accuracy of the information.

2. In many instances they give an allegorical interpretation to the Scripture, making the figures in
Scripture apply to the Watchtower Society.
3. Such subjects as the Trinity, the Hypostatical Union of Christ (that Christ is God and man at the
same time), the Revealed Destiny of the Lost (Hell), and the Absolute Sovereignty of God are
subjects that are beyond human understanding. The Jehovahs Witnesses refuse to believe
anything they cannot understand.
4. Since grace is a principle that is contrary to the thinking of the natural man, the Jehovahs
Witnesses, all other cults, and all pagan religions believe in salvation by works. The Jehovahs
Witnesses and other cults claim to believe in salvation by grace, but they do not know the grace
of God in truth (Col. 1:6).
5. Since they think that the Bible cannot really mean what it says (for example about Jesus being
Jehovah, Jesus being Almighty God, and that everlasting life is a present possession and not a
future attainment), they feel justified in changing the Scriptures to fit their doctrine (for example
John 1:1; Hebrews 1:8; John 8:58; Phil. 2:5; Col. 1:16-20).
6. Without Scriptural warrant they base their entire scheme of prophet speculation on the day for a
year theory (Ezekiel 4:6). Their faith in the WT remains unshaken even though the WT has
changed its dates dozens of times.

Bible Doctrines Not Taught In Watchtower Literature

I repeat Jehovahs Witnesses are wrong in their interpretation of every major doctrine in the Bible. In this
brief section I wish to call your attention to ten major Bible doctrines that are not discussed in WT
literature.
1. The doctrine of the substitutionary death of Christ is not presented in WT literature. Reference is made
to the ransom of Christ, but the wonderful truth that the Lord Jesus died in the sinners place and stead is
not emphasized (II Cor. 5:21; I Peter 2:24; 3:18).
Since we are sinners, we need a Savior, we need a way whereby our sins can be forgiven. The Bible
presents the Lord Jesus Christ as a wonderful, all sufficient Savior (Matt. 1:21).
In WT literature, the Lord Jesus is presented as a creature of God, as a lesser deity. Aid to Bible
Understanding (a compendium of WT doctrine) states that Christ performs salvation as the agent of
Jehovah.
The Bible presents the Lord Jesus as a wonderful all-sufficient Savior.
2. God not only wants to save men, but He wants them to know that they are saved (I John 5:13).
God wants us to have the assurance of our salvation (II Timothy 1:12). He wants us to realize that
salvation is a present possession and not a future attainment (John 5:24).
Jehovahs Witnesses do not have the assurance of salvation because their system depends on salvation
by works, and they never know when they have worked enough.

3. Closely related to the doctrine of assurance, but distinct from it is the doctrine of security.
The Bible teaches, Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or
persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake are we killed all the
day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than
conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, no life, nor angels, nor
principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other
creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord, (Romans
8:35-39).
The doctrine of security is despised by all cults.
4. The Lord Jesus said, I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more
abundantly, (John 10:10).
We have everlasting life when we receive Christ (John 4:24) and He has made every provision for us to
now have and to enjoy abundant life.
Victorious life teaching cannot be found in the WT literature. Their whole system is built on the self effort.
No where in their literature do you find that it is Christ in you and through you. No where do you find the
emphasis Christ liveth in me (Gal. 2:20). No where do you read that Christ is your life (Col. 3:4).
5. The Bible commands us to be filled with the Holy Spirit (Eph 5:18). To be filled with the Spirit means to
be controlled by the Spirit.
The Spirit-filled life is the normal Christian life. We are to be led by the Spirit (Rom. 8:14). We are to walk
in the Spirit that we may not fulfill the lusts of the flesh (Gal. 5:16).
You will not find such teaching in WT literature.
6. There is much teaching in the New Testament about the Church.
The Lord Jesus purposes to present the Church to Himself without spot or wrinkle (Eph. 5:27).
In the book of Ephesians the church is presented under three figures. It is the body of Christ (Eph. 1:22,23).
It is the building of God (Eph. 2:20-22). It is the bride of Christ (Eph. 5:24-32).
The JWs do not see the church as an organism, the body of Christ, but they emphasize the Kingdom as
being Jehovahs Theocratic Organization.
They fail to recognize that the Church is the body of Christ and that it is to function as a body (Eph. 4:16).
7. The JWs dare not to exalt the Lord Jesus. Therefore, they do not present Him as merciful and

compassionate High Priest who ever lives to make intercession for us (the entire book of Hebrews, esp.
7:25).
8. The JWs are not by themselves in neglecting the Biblical teaching of the authority of the believer (Luke
9:1,2).
Just as a policeman has the authority to direct traffic, in the same way the born again child of God has
authority over principalities and powers.
9. Naturally, we would not expect to find the Lordship of Christ presented in WT literature.
Christ is called Lord over 500 times in the New Testament. He is specifically called Lord of all in Acts 10:36,
but the JWs dare not recognize this revelation, for to do so would spoil their theology.
10. The Bible teaches, For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the
archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and
remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we
ever be with the Lord, (I Thess. 4:16-17).
Behold I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the
twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised
incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal
must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall
have put on immorality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in
victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the
strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved brethren be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,
forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord, (1 Cor. 15:51-58).
The Bible clearly teaches the rapture of the church, but the JWs dare not accept this teaching, to do so
would ruin their theology that Christ returned in 1914.

Verses of Scripture That Are Ignored Or Explained

Away In WT Literature
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God, (John 1:1).
That all men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honoreth not the Son
honoreth not the Father which hath sent him. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my Word and
believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting live, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed
from death unto life, (John 5:23, 24).
Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM, (John 8:58).

And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God, (John 20:28).
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me; and the life which I now
live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me, (Gal. 2:20).
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at
the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the
earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father
(Phil. 2:9-11).
For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head
of all principality and power: (Col. 2:9, 10).
But unto the Son he saith: Thy throne, O God is for ever and ever; a sceptre of righteousness is the
sceptre of thy kingdom, (Heb. 1:8).
Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the
Father also, (I John 2:23).
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and
which is to come, the Almighty, (Rev. 1:8).
The hodge-podge of confusion presented by the WT has resulted in millions of professing Christians
being led astray.
Most of their converts come from untaught church members.
The teachings of the WT have resulted in hundreds of homes being broken up, and will result in the
eternal damnation of all who do not repent and turn from this false Satanic system to the unsearchable
riches of Christ.
