Hi there! I am currently teaching:

6th grade Ancient History,
7th grade Medieval and Early Modern History
10th grade Modern World History
Academic Decathlon (9th and 10th grade elective)
Turkish 1 (Mixed grades-Middle School elective)
I received my B.A. from the Middle East Technical University Dept. of History, Ankara/ TURKEY (ranked
1st in my department!) and my M.A. from the Ohio State University (OSU) Dept. of History, Columbus,
OH (received the best graduate student award in 2005!).
I also have a TESOL Certificate to teach EFL and ESL anywhere in the world from Brigham Young U.,
Provo, UT. I have been teaching History and different languages since 2002. I love languages and studied
5 or 6 of them myself including French, Arabic, Hebrew, Spanish and an academic language Ottoman
Turkish (Old Turkish). I also love spending time with my family, reading, doing research and playing the
ney (reed flute), a traditional musical instrument.
I have always been involved in extracurricular activities and served as president of some clubs in
universities such as Students for Dialogue at OSU and Turkish Club at BYU. I love walking the extra mile
with our students at MSA and have been running these clubs: CMLP (College Mentorship and Leadership
Program) for our HS students, Chess and Ping Pong, Soccer and Turkish & History Bee Competitions Club.
I have been participating and organizing several educational and extra-curricular activities, sleepovers,
camps and trips for our students including my traditional trip to Turkey every year.
I am passionate about teaching history and languages and I love being around students at our school MSASA!
