SETTLING TEAM DISPUTES

AND PEER EVALUATIONS

Although you may believe that youll be able to work with your friends / classmates
on a team project for weeks or months and not have any disputes, this is unlikely.

The goal in teamwork is not to avoid disputes (sometimes disputes are a good sign
because it means your teammates really care about the project!) but rather to
settle them in an effective and constructive manner. But not all disputes are the
same. Disagreements about design, due dates, etc should be handled via your
agreed upon decision making process. Disputes about work distribution and /or
project participation are another matter and need to be handled with care and you
may come to see me if there are concerns that cannot be handled by your team (i.e.
a teammate that simply never comes to class). The peer evaluations are another
way to manage team participation. Everyone in your teamneeds to read the peer
evaluation form now and understand how the final deliverable grade is calculated
and the potential impact of peer evaluations. Please include signatures - typed
name or hand signed - from all teammates with your team ground rules
deliverable:

By signing below I agree that I have read and understand the peer
evaluation form and its potential impact on my final course deliverable
