What is artificial intelligent?

Artificial intelligence is related with the computer science, which
develop dispositive that have capacities like think, understand, take
decisions and solve problems, in other words have the capacity of
being smart.
What is the relation between the computers and the artificial
intelligence?
A.I. has grown thanks to the development of the technology, like the
computers, that along the time have being called by smart machines.
Later

specialists

believed

that

machines

could

do

the

most

complicated human tasks, like think.

Applications for the artifi cial intelligence
Nowadays A.I. is used in games, computer softwares, security
applications for current information systems, dispositiveof writing
knowledge,finger tipsand voice, it helps to medical exams, on robotic
in the future it may be related with the vision, audition and his
movements.
Advantages and disadvantages of A.I
A.I. has advantages and disadvantages. As advantages we can notice
a big productivity with small costs and bigger precision in the
products that are made. It may reduce the number of the medical
mistakes, allow the exploration of the other planets, find cure to
disease and save burred people. As disadvantages it is expansive,
needs a specialized service and it doesnt correctcompletelythe
human mistakes.
The movie
Movie realized by Steven Spielberg, through a project of Stanley
Kubrick, that tell us the story of a robot with emotions and his human
family. In a future world, after the icebergs melted, they created

robots for all kinds of functions, but unable to love. The little boy
David is the first viable project of artificial and the first that may love
unconditionally. He is adopted experimental by a couple that have an
only child with a terminal disease and has beenfrozen until they find a
cure.Gradually, David won all the love and attention of this kind of
relations, but a lot of unexpected situations made that life impossible
to David. The biological sun of the couple got cured and the
familyended rejecting the robot.... Only counting with the company
ofanother robot, David starts a journey to find his place in the world
where the line that separates him from the other machines may be
terribly huge or almost imperceptible.

Curiosities
In Portugal the artificial intelligence has been developed in the main
universities, this one has programmes very competitive in an
international way; the only problem is the care of governmental
supports. The Portuguese universities have developed a good job and
a lot of their results have been shown in the inauguration of the
EXPO98.
