Dear Krishna,

PS is highly integrated with FICO & MM Module.

Once project gets completed which needs to be settled on Fixed asset, Cost center etc. for that you need to do PS- FICO integration.

You have to set the settings under ( This is CO config part)

Project System -- Costs -- Automatic and Periodic Allocations -- Settlement ---Settlement Profile

Create Allocation Structure

Create Source Structure

Define PA Transfer Structures

Create Settlement Profile

Then Assign this Settlement profile to Project Profile. (PS config part)

Also you need to assign Org.struture with Project Profile. In Organization tab Controlling area/Company code//Business area/Plant/Profit Center etc.

If you are implementing Investment project then first you have to create Investment Profile which need to be assigned with Project Profile. So by this assignment system will create Asset in the baground after Release of WBS Element.

I think these are the few important config settings between PS & FICO.

In Transaction CJVC you assign cost centers to value categories. In SPRO you follow the path Project System --> Cost --> Value Categories to maintain the project settings. Please follow through the instructions on cost allocation

and settlement carefully to allow an automatic periodical settlement of your projects. You will find additional help to create your needed business case on help.sap.com.

n TCode CJ20N, on Basic Data tab page of WBS element under responsibility subtab you can mention cost center. This I suppose must be only for reporting purpose. Please check if it is useful to you.

AUC is nothing but a "capital work in progress" which needs to recognized periodically. Asset under construction is mainly used in the case where the progress is on and that is going to be your Fixed in furture, in this situation, you do the settlements on to AUC periodically until you recognize that as final asset and later post it to Fixed Asset. Ex: Constructing a building is a Project (AUC is must)

There are cases where you don't need AUC at all and can directly post on Asset. Ex: If you buy a vehicle then you don't need to have a AUC, you can directly settle to Fixed asset from WBS element or from what ever cost object.

If you are using Investment management and AUC is getting created during the time of release of the WBS element, the setting is in the Investment profile and the path is as shown below:

SPRO: Investment Management-->Projects as Investment Measures-->Master Data-->Define Investment Profile-- >Define investment Profile--> (for the profile you are using remove the checks (Manage AUC, Auc per Source Structure, if you don't want AUC to be created automatically) retain Manage AUC check if you want AUC to be generated for the WBS where the investment profile is assigned).

This question is Assumed Answered.

Hello Experts,

Purchasing Fixed Asset against WBS Element.

Purchasing Fixed Asset through ME21N (PO).

In PO I selected Account Assignment Category “A”, material no “XXXX”.

In line item Account Assignment Tab I assigned Fixed Asset G/L Account number and Asset number and WBS Element.

Fixed asset G/L Account is created as a Cost Element (Category “90”).

When PO is posted Commitment updated correctly to WBS Element.

But When GR(Mvt 101) is posted Actual Cost is not updated to WBS Element?

Please provide me your valuable inputs.

Thanks in advance.

point 1 : if you select P/Q in PO the actual cost will be updated against the Wbse while GR. this cost will be moved to asset from wbse in the form of settlement process. please discuss further with your fi consultant. point 2; actual cost cant' be posted from asset PO to wbse. you must follow point 1.

Hi Rajesh,
WBS settled to asset can be seen in AR02.
1.Use dynamic selections
a.goto Investment account assignment->WBS element and enter your wbs elements list.
You may also choose from other dynamic selection as per your requirement.
2.
Amount will be there.
3.
what is the logic behind choosing percentage. Please specify.

Hello Everybody ,

I need your help.

A new scenario has come over here and i am not getting how to implement it in

SAP .

Scenario is :

  • 1. We have a fixed asset at cost center .

  • 2. Now the asset is need to be replaced .

  • 3. We settled new asset at that cost center .

  • 4. Old asset needs to be used in a project.

Problem is :

Client is required that old asset that was replaced, should be transferred to a new project or WBS where the asset final cost

(including depreciation) should consume the budget from the WBS .

Example:

Asset cost along with depreciation is say Rs 50000.

We transferred an Asset to a new WBS where budget is defined 80000.

So as asset gets transferred , remaining WBS budget value should be 80000 - 50000 = 30000means

old asset value should get expensed by WBS .

Then later on we can settle the asset along with the AUC of WBS.

Conclusion:

We need to transfer an fixed asset that is not in anymore used in that defined cost center and need to be replaced and after replacement it should get transferred to a WBS where WBS budget value would be reduced equal to asset value along with depreciation and later on we could transfer it to a cost center where asset is required.

Thanks,

Jagjeet Sandhu

Hi Sunil.

Thanks for your valuable response .

But issue is bit different

Scenario is :

We dont have to make asset as an scrap.

Ex:

We have to take the same asset to another WBS without making scrap and the current asset value should be expensed from the defined WBS budget .

How the asset at cost centre would be transferred to WBS and should be capitalised again at new WBS .

Kindly share the procedure .

Thanks & Regards

Configure your Investment Profile in Tcode - OITA (mention your AUC class in the "Inv. measure asset Class" field and then assign this Investment profile in Project Profile Tcode - OPSA in Controlling Tab.

Create a WBS using this Project Profile and you can create an AUC automatically on releasing the WBS. To see the AUC follow the path Edit - WBS Element - Investment Program - Asset Under Construction in

CJ20N.
