ABOUT ME
My name is Betsy Sherertz. I will be receiving my Bachelor in Graphic
Design in May of 2010 from North Carolina State University. Design to me
is fun. It is a way to create, re-create and most importantly, to make things
that satisy others. I believe it is important as a designer, to utilize my
skills and create something for and inspired by the user. I like to dabble
in all sorts of media from print to motion design. It is important to me to
learn everything needed to better serve a client.

Craigslist is a french fold booklet that folds
out into a poster.

EcÓ (eating + cooking organically) magazine focuses on environmentally

friendly ways to eat, cook, dine out, and all things food related. The goal
was to set up a clean system to fit the context of the magazine, and to

The goal for the EcÓ Magazine masthead
animation was to embody the message
proposed by the magazine itself. This
message is about the nature of our actions
towards the environment that eventually
affect what we eat.

SUBJECT STUDY POSTER
This is a poster inspired by a video study of
a modern dancer turned mother. The design
captures the moments of the movie that I shot,
in which I shadowed and interviewed a mother
that is struggling to be a modern dancer.

DIDO SERVICE DESIGN > PACKAGING

Dido Flagship Retail Store: Dido is a the

name of a theoretical retail store that
specializes in using 3D body scanning
technology to customize clothing to their
customers’ exact measurements.

These are concepts for packaging to be

used for the store. The garment bags use
the triangular design used in some of the
store’s environmental graphics, contains
customer’s information and logo, and can
be reused. The vacuum sealed packaging
concept for shipment of clothing incor-
porates elements of branding and the
customer’s information.

DIDO SERVICE DESIGN > BODY SCANNER

These images represent designs for a 3D body scanning machine for the
Dido flagship store. The overall design is a modular shape to go along with
modular graphics that accommodate the store’s appearance and branding.
Interior view of store shows a concept for the layout of the scan section

DIDO SERVICE DESIGN > WAYFINDING

The Dido scan section from a different perspective, showing

the wall and floor wayfinding graphics. I designed a signage
system that would use both acrylic signs, as well as a guided
floor and wall path that is based on increments of measuring
to coincide with body measuring scanner.

Spittlebug card game that was designed to teach kids

about bugs that are harmful or beneficial to humans.

STUDY OF TYPE IN MOTION
This project includes a collection of
experiments I completed for a final senior
project that focuses on different movements
and effects that are applied to type, while
incorporating the motion with music. The
series of experiments were completed using
After Effects CS4.
