Master Guide
INTRODUCTION TO THE CELEBRATION
The presider or another minister introduces the Mass
We were created in the image and likeness of

God, and God is love.
Love, therefore, is part of our nature.
We are on this earth with each other to love one
another, to manifest our being made in Gods
image, in loves image.
Since the very beginning, God intended human
beings to love one another,
thats why theres the institution of marriage.
Marriage is the permanent bond of the love
between husband and wife,
a living out of that Christian love that Jesus Christ
showed when he offered his life for us.
We celebrate that love here - in this church when we remember and make present that
sacrifice on the altar.
In this eucharist, we continue to pray for better
weather and for the victims of the recent
calamaties that we experienced.
May our celebration of Christs self-giving bring
us to do the same in these times when we are
most needed.
ACT OF PENITENCE
The priest invites the people to recall their sins to repent of

them in silence with
Coming together as Gods family, with confidence,

let us ask the Fathers forgiveness, for he is full
of gentleness and compassion.

he LORD God said: It is not good for the

man to be alone.
I will make a suitable partner for him.
So the LORD God formed out of the ground
various wild animals and various birds of the air,
and he brought them to the man to see what he
would call them;
whatever the man called each of them would be
its name.
The man gave names to all the cattle,
all the birds of the air, and all wild animals;
but none proved to be the suitable partner for the
man.
So the LORD God cast a deep sleep on the man,
and while he was asleep,
he took out one of his ribs and closed up its place
with flesh.
The LORD God then built up into a woman the
rib
that he had taken from the man.
When he brought her to the man, the man said:
This one, at last, is bone of my bones

this one shall be called woman,

Is it lawful for a husband to divorce his wife?
They were testing him.
He said to them in reply, What did Moses
command you?
They replied,
Moses permitted a husband to write a bill of
divorce
and dismiss her.
But Jesus told them,
Because of the hardness of your hearts
he wrote you this commandment.
But from the beginning of creation, God made
them male and female.
For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother
and be joined to his wife,
and the two shall become one flesh.
So they are no longer two but one flesh.
Therefore what God has joined together,
no human being must separate.
In the house the disciples again questioned Jesus
about this.
He said to them,
Whoever divorces his wife and marries another
commits adultery against her;
and if she divorces her husband and marries
another,
she commits adultery.
[And people were bringing children to him that he
might touch them,
but the disciples rebuked them.
When Jesus saw this he became indignant and
said to them,
Let the children come to me;
do not prevent them, for the kingdom of God
belongs to
such as these.

whoever does not accept the kingdom of God like

will not enter it.

PROFESSION OF FAITH
All say
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit
and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day, he rose again.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,

LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST
PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL

Brothers and sisters, let us put our faith in God

who listens to the prayer of his people. To him
let us bring our needs and let us say: Lord, hear
us.
The intentions are said at the ambo.
1. For the Church that she may continue to

protect the sanctity of marriage and sex, to
nurture the spiritual life of married couples
and families, and to help in making better the
situation of poor families, we pray.
2. For the government, that our leaders may work
to improve the quality of life of all Filipinos
by protecting the institution of marriage and
family, we pray.
3. For our country, that we may rise up from the
flood and mud of the typhoons by our solidarity
with and compassion for one another, we pray.
4. For the victims of the recent rains, that help
may come to them as soon as possible, we pray.
5. For our parish community, that we may love one
another as Christ did so that our community
may be conducive for marriages to work, and
young people to grow up as good individuals ,
we pray.
6. For the intentions of our mission partners, those
who serve in our parish and those who asked for
our prayers by offering their intentions in this
mass, we pray.

God our Father, you are the source of all good

things. Listen to the prayer of your people and
grant us what would bring us to you. We ask
this through Christ our Lord.
