SewerCAD

Hydraulic analysis of the system including pumping stations, main gravity sewers and
forcemains has been carried out using SewerCAD software package.
SewerCAD is a comprehensive ACAD-integrated software package for the design and
analysis of gravity and pressure sewerage systems. SewerCAD allows construction of a
graphical representation of a sewerage system containing information such as pipe data,
pump data, loading, and infiltration.
The gravity network is analysed using the built-in numerical model, which utilizes both the
direct step and standard step gradually varied flow methods. Flow calculations are valid for
both surcharged and varied flow situations, including hydraulic jumps, backwater, and draw
down curves. Program also has the flexibility to mix gravity and pressure components freely,
building systems in parallel or in series as they exist in the field. Pressure elements can be
controlled based on system hydraulics, turning pumps on and off due to changes in flows and
pressures.
SewerCAD flexible reporting features allow the user to create any type of report, plan or
profile for analysis, design or review in both tabular and graphical formats.
Some of the basic concepts underlying the analysis are described hereunder:
SewerCAD can run both Steady State and Extended Period Analyses (EPS).
Steady State Analyses model a single instant in time and are generally used to model
a network under peak loading conditions. Extended Period Simulations (EPS) model a
network over a specified duration of time and can be used to model hydrograph
loading, wet well capacities, and automated pump behavior.
Loads are the sources of flow in the sanitary sewer system, and are categorized
as sanitary (dry weather) loads, wet weather loads, and known loads. The total load at
any given point may be a combination of these basic load types.
Loads can be adjusted through the use of fixed or variable peaking factors during
a Steady State analysis in order to analyze the system under a variety of conditions,
such as daily average, minimum, and maximum scenarios. Common pre-defined
variable peaking methods are included, but you may also specify your own as tables
or equations.
Loads can also be varied over time using loading patterns and hydrographs during
an Extended Period Simulation (EPS).
Gravity pipe headlosses are computed based on gradually varied flow profiles or
approximate profiles. Either of these profile methods allows for free-surface (open
channel) flow, full flow (as for a pipe that is submerged), and mixed conditions.
Pressure pipe headlosses are based strictly on full-flow hydraulics.
Gravity structure losses may be based on several common methodologies. Where
appropriate, these calculations may account for pipe bend angles, structure benching,
and other influential factors.
During an Extended Period Simulation (EPS) hydrographs are routed through the
gravity pipes to account for translation and other effects.
All or portions of gravity systems may be selected for automatic design. This
preliminary design can be used to set pipe and structure elevations, as well as to size
the pipes.

RESULTS OF HYDRAULIC COMPUTATION

In the enclosed Appendix 1 so called SewerCad Project Inventory is given for the analysed
computation scenario. This scenario includes sanitary loads that are computed using the
peaking factor calculated by Harman equation. Corresponding Network and Circular Pipes
Inventories are also included.
Detail results of the hydraulic computation for the analysed operational regime/statek are
presented in a tabular form.
For the analysed peak-hour steady state regime two kinds of tables with the results of the
hydraulic computation are presented:
