An intro to Camerawork
An analysis of the use of camerawork is vital when analysing a Media text and
identifying how different groups of people or events are represented in the
Media and meanings attached to these groups.
An analysis of camerawork can be divided up into 4 aspects:
1. Shot types or distance
2. Camera angles
3. Camera movement
4. Framing
Each shot type, angle, movement or frame used in any text, will be chosen to
offer a specific message or meaning for the audience to consume.
We are going to watch some short tutorials that give us an example of what
each shot looks like, why it might be used and the effect that this is intended to
have on the audience.
