COURSE DESCRIPTION &


OBJECTIVE:

Required attendance at selected events that support curricular


offerings.
Full-time undergraduate students will register for PRF 101,
Performance Forum, as a class valued at .5 credit per semester for six
semesters taken continuously from the time of matriculation until the
requirement is completed. If this requirement places a student in an
overload situation, the fee will be waived.
Part-time students must also complete six semesters of PRF 101 but
have the option of not registering continuously. Transfer students
must register for PRF 101 every semester they are enrolled up to 6
semesters.
Performance attendance will consist only of events scheduled as a
regular class at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday for the Fall 2014 semester.
Events will provide students with informative content.
Events offered will range from approximately 40 minutes in length to a
maximum of 50 minutes.

Students may not leave early.


INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS:
ATTENDANCE:

None
Attendance will be monitored by adult professional staff members.
Attendance will be taken electronically at the start of each PF by
scanning student SU ID Cards. Additional scanning may be done at the
end of a recital.
Programs will not be accepted as evidence of attendance.
Only electronic attendance will be accepted therefore students
must have their SU Student ID Card at each PF or they will be
counted absent.
Records are maintained in the Conservatory Ofce.
Attendance will be posted on BlackBoard

EVALUATION:

A = 4 Performance Forum Attendances


C = 3 Performance Forum Attendances
F = 2 Performance Forum Attendances

Students will not be excused from Performance Forum for student


teaching, practicum, etc.
Students may not be removed from Performance Forum by faculty
members for rehearsals or other program if the program is still in
progress.

Credit will NOT be earned


Students may loose credit for attending a recital because of rude or
disrespectful behavior, including using electronic devices during a
performance. Laptops and Cellular devices must be turned off
during performances.
ACADEMIC DISHONESTY:

All students at Shenandoah University are responsible for upholding the


Honor Code. Violations of the Honor Code are as follows: cheating,
plagiarism, falsification, tampering with records, forgery, and withholding
information. It is every students responsibility to report any violations of
the Honor Code to the professor and every professors responsibility to
report student violations. Please see Student Hand Book for more
specific details. As attendance is the only graded requirement for this
class, leaving early, without permission, is considered falsification
under the Honor Code.
