Over 20 years software engineering experience in a variety of roles including software development, support, marketing,
system testing, and engineering management. My skills include partnering with various business unit teams, managing issue

coaching employees, and driving results. In addition, the last five years I have been an investor and resource for two
startups where I helped raise money, recruit engineers, support customers, provided demos, delivered product

Project manager for over 70 Catalyst 4500 software releases delivered to over 100,000 customers. Oversaw all
projects as cross business unit endeavors with multiple stakeholders, shared resources, and global teams. Specific
tasks included: learning each projects new features and business strategy, defining the project scope and schedule,
documenting the project plan while evaluating risks to the project, budgeting, coordinating and managing hardware
and software resources, establishing the team, running agenda based meetings, publishing meeting minutes, and
reporting business level status updates. Each project required working across different business unit management
styles, product life cycles, and business processes. Technology included: Microsoft Windows Excel, Word, Outlook,
Project; Cisco technology and tools(switching, routing, security, network management, ATS, EDCS, SDLC), Catalyst
products (65xx, 45xx, 35xx), system testing, power testing, SNMP network management, testing (manual,
regression, and ATS automation), Windows test automation, Cisco Network Assistant, RFID, Traffic Test Tools
(Spirent, IXIA), and testbed power management tools.
Lab Manager for the business unit. Provided lab and network administration services including internal network
support with ticketing system, hardware PC and UNIX desktop selection and support, procurement team, ISO audits,
equipment sharing via reallocation WEB page, space planning, equipment sharing, ordering, and RFID hardware
tracking. Maintained over $20M in IXIA and Spirent equipment.
Sourcing and staffing for more than twenty engineers, writing Statements of Work (SOW), writing contracts,
managing contractors, and justifying expenditures.
Defined and coordinated business unit test group budgets while forecasting eight quarters of spending. Presented
budgets to the director and controller.
Business initiatives and tasks I managed include:
1. Developed the high density Cisco 4500 chassis high power testbed for all DC and AC power supplies, the 802.3af
RJ45 inline power testbed, the high performance network traffic testbed, and the high density voice over IP
phone testbed.
2. Designed and coordinated technical training for offshore engineers. Developed and documented the interview
process and product test process for the quality assurance team.
3. Defined and prototyped a green energy saving strategy for engineering labs, EDVT labs, feature testbeds, and
regression testbeds. Goal was to save 30% in energy costs.
