The Trinity

Is It Christian Or Pagan?

The early church in it's simplicity and simple Faith in God, believed in
One God; and that God was all in all to them. He was their Father in
creation, their Saviour manifested in Jesus Christ and their Salvation in
the form of the Holy Spirit 'in' them. It was not until after the death of the
'original' apostles, and false apostles (Revelation 2:2) entered the church,
that the Godhead became an issue. These false apostles began to bring
heresy into the church, attempting to "organize" the Christian Faith and
exercise "control" over the laity. In Revelation 2:6 Jesus identified this in
the first Church Age (Ephesus) as "the deeds of the Nicolaitanes". By the
third Church Age (Pergamos) these 'deeds' had become a 'doctrine', called
'the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes' (Revelation 2:15). Now, most of the
Christian movement had become "organized" under the "control" of man.
Those opposing the teachings of this Nicolaitane (conquer the laity) form
of Christianity were put to death.

The Nicolaitane influence continued to grow in the church, causing more

and more controversy and division. Peter's prophecy had come to pass. In
2nd Peter 2:1 he warned the Saints, saying, "But there were false
prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers
among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying
the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction."
One of those damnable heresies was the teaching of the trinity - three
person concept of the Godhead.

During the Apostolic Age of the early Church the Doctrine of the Trinity
was unheard of. The early church did not believe in three persons in
the Godhead. They believed in the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit -
simply believing that each was a "dispensational manifestation" of One
and the same God. But with organized religion came intellectual
theologians, without Spiritual revelation. They took it upon themselves
to take the understanding of the Word out of the hands of the Holy Ghost
and place it in the hands of the 'clergy' of the organized church. Until
finally, during the dark ages, the organized anti-Christ church forbid the
ordinary person to read the Scriptures, causing them to depend entirely on

the clergy for spiritual guidance or rather, mis-guidance.

It was NOT until after the apostolic age that the theory of three persons
in the Godhead was introduced into the Church. Slowly but surely, the
theologians were making the Godhead an issue which eventually caused
divisions within the Christian community. Finally, in 325 A.D. Emperor
Constantine called for a meeting of all the Bishops of the "organized"
church to settle the dispute. Hundreds of others attended this meeting to
express their views. There were about fifteen hundred delegates in all;
and the laity outnumbered the bishops five to one in the delegation. At
this, the first of all "Ecumenical Councils", held in Nicaea (now Iznik,
Turkey) in 325 A.D., the subject of the Godhead became an issue and a
cardinal doctrine, causing a two way split among the people. But in spite
of the large number of lay people present, opposing the idea of 'three
persons' in the Godhead, the Nicolaitanes (cold, formal clergy), organized
religion and Constantine's political plan out-maneuvered and out-voted
the true church.

The vast majority of Roman Bishops came away from that council
believing in three persons in the Godhead, thus believing in three Gods.
But the true church, under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, maintained
their Scriptural stand that God is ONE - not three; Because the
Revelation through John by the Spirit to the churches was, "I am the
Lord Jesus Christ, and I am ALL of it - the Alpha and Omega, the
Almighty. There isn't any other God". And He [Jesus] put His seal on this
Revelation. The organized church of Rome became so powerful that it
began a campaign of persecution of the "True Church, eventually, putting
68,000,000 of them to death.

Foxe's Book of Martyrs clearly details the 'brutality' with which

organized Nicolaitane religion, in the form of the Roman Catholic
Church, brutally murdered 68,000,000 protestants. Make no wonder,
John, in the Book of Revelation said that 'she' (the false Nicolaitane
church) was "drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of
the martyrs of Jesus" (Revelation 17:6).

Still, after 1700 years no other Doctrine is as "sacred" to Traditional

organized Christianity (both Roman Catholic and Protestant) as the
doctrine of the 'Trinity'. To the 'traditional Christian' the teaching of the
'three person' concept of the Godhead is a 'precious jewel' in their
Christian confession. Dare anyone, even God Himself, challenge the

Scripturalness of it. Most professing Christians turn a blind eye and a
deaf ear to the truth of where the trinity - three person concept of God
originated. The tradition of the elders have made a false trinity doctrine
the cornerstone of the Christian Faith. For this they will answer to God

Concerning the Godhead, William Branham made the following

statement in a Message entitled, 'Abraham's Covenant Confirmed' (1961):
"I am not 'Jesus Only'...I'm not Oneness. Not at all. I'm not trinity either.
I'm a Christian. I believe in God. I believe in God manifested in three
offices. NOW, His office is in my heart, in your heart. Not another God
somewhere else; another God somewhere else; and another God
somewhere else. That's as pagan as pagan can be. NEVER one time was
that even thought of until the Nicene Council. [You can't] find it in the
Bible, or find it in history - till that time - it's not there."

Though he embraced the "Oneness" formula for water baptism - in the

NAME of the Lord Jesus Christ, William Branham's view of the Godhead
is far from the "Unitarian" concept or the concept preached by the United
Pentecostal Church. Yet, the teaching of "three persons' in the Godhead is
so ingrained in the people that to question it's validity is immediately
called heresy and branded as a 'cult'. The Churches which follow the
Message brought by William Branham have long been listed as cults; but
recently, on the internet, some self-proclaimed 'cult expert' branded the
United Pentecostal Church as a cult - all because they don't believe in the
trinity. This is ridiculous - No where, in Scripture are we
"commanded" or asked to believe in 'three persons' in the
Godhead???

The first of the Ten Commandments gives instruction concerning how

many Gods we are to have - "Thou shalt have no other gods before me"
(Exodus 20:3). Notice, it says 'me' not 'us'. To interpret the word "us" in
Genesis 1:26 as referring to a plurality of persons in the Godhead is to
say that there are three Gods. The term "us" is mentioned again in
Genesis 11:7 and in Genesis 18. In Genesis 18 the "us" comes down to
commune with Abraham. "One" of them is the LORD (Jehovah) Himself
in human form. Abraham bowed to this One, calling Him (capital)
"LORD". The other two were Angels in human form.

Because of the use of the plural pronoun in Genesis 1:26, this Scripture
reference is used extensively by Trinitarian theologians in their attempt to
prove a 'three person' concept of the Godhead. But they fail to perceive

that this is God's way of indicating, not a plurality of persons, but of
offices or manifestations of the same God. Down through the ages, since
the beginning of time, He has revealed Himself to man in many different
'forms' and different ways. But He forever remains the ONE and self-
same Being.

Trinitarians also point out the use of the plural name "Elohim" in
Genesis 1:1, saying that it conclusively indicates 'persons' in the
Godhead. Elohim, however, is used to depict other Old Testament deities
(whether real or imaginary). Baal, Judges 6:31 and Beelzebub, 2nd
Kings 1:2 are both called "Elohim", but they were not trinities.
Therefore the word, "Elohim" does not express a plurality of persons
but of attributes and of majesty. In the ancient theaters of hundreds of
years ago an 'actor' could be called "Elohim" because it was the custom
for 'one' actor to portray many characters in the same play, simply by
changing from one mask to another - but he was still ONE person,
playing many different characters.

Without 'spiritual revelation' most people are stumbled by such terms

as 'we' and 'us'. Of course, taking the terminology out of the context of
the whole Revelation of the Godhead leads the carnal mind to conclude
that there must be three persons in the Godhead. They count: the Father
(1) + the Son (1) + the Holy Ghost (1) = 3. But with Divine 'Spiritual
revelation', the Believer starts with the Great Eternal Spirit - for God is a
Spirit - He is the Holy Spirit; and out of the Holy Spirit came the
Fatherhood dispensation, the Sonship dispensation and the Holy Ghost
(Spirit) dispensation - three manifestations of the ONE God. God above
us in the Fatherhood; God with us in the Sonship; and God in us by the
Holy Ghost.

Without a doubt, the majority of denominational, non-denominational

and inter-denominational church members have yet to acknowledge the
Truth that has now been accepted by most Christian intellectuals for
decades - the Truth that a belief in a trinity of "Three Persons" (in the
Godhead), in modern language is nothing less than tri-theism - a belief
in "three God's". The distinguished theologian, Dr. Hans Kung, in his
book, Being A Christian, (1976, p.446) wrote, "The monotheistic faith
taken over from Israel...must never be abandoned in any doctrine of the
Trinity. There is no God but God."

Yet that is exactly what denominational Christianity did - they

abandoned the "one" God of Israel in favor of a three-headed
monstrosity called "The Holy Trinity". It is anything but "holy". In fact
the Bible speaks of "three unclean spirits" like frogs, coming out of the
mouth of the Dragon, the Beast and the false prophet (Rev. 16:13). The
True Prophet of God to this Endtime Age said that these 'three unclean
spirits' is the "three person trinity" teaching which was introduced into
the Church in 325 A.D. It is one of the biggest deceptions which the
Devil has pushed over on the church since the Serpent persuaded Eve
that the fruit of the forbidden tree would make her wise 'like God'.
But the carnal wisdom and knowledge she inherited was bitter and not
better - she could well have done without it.

The church world could well do without the Trinity teaching concept of
'three persons' in the Godhead. For some protestants the teaching of a
Saturday-Sabbath or some other doctrine is the key to their experience
and relationship with God; to the vast majority of protestants the trinity
teaching seems to be the cornerstone of their faith. With the same fervor
with which patriotic citizens sing their national anthem, even so the
Trinitarians sing "Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty; God in three
persons, Blessed Trinity". Such an idea flies in the face of not only
common sense but more importantly, the HOLY Scriptures.

It is written......
Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my
Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but
for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself
God........................John 10:32-33

Because Jesus claimed to be God - not 'one-third' part of God, but God
Himself, the Pharisees were about to stone Him to death. In John
chapter 8 they again wanted to stone Him when He said, "Before
Abraham was, I AM." He declared Himself to be the "I AM" (verses 58-
59). When God commissioned Moses to go down into Egypt to bring
Israel out of bondage He identified Himself to Moses as the "I AM" -
NOT the "WE ARE". Jesus plainly declared Himself to be the "I
AM".

In Isaiah 44:6 The Jehovah of the Old Testament identified Himself to

Israel with these words:

Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the
LORD of hosts; I [am] the first, and I [am] the last; and beside
me [there is] no God.

In Revelation 1:8, 11 the Jesus of the New Testament identified Himself

to the Church with these words:

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the
Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the
Almighty.....the First and the Last.

Therefore, the Jehovah of the Old Testament is the Jesus of the New
Testament. All these expressions, 'Alpha', 'Omega', 'beginning', 'ending',
`Him Which Is', and `Him Which Was', and `Is To Come', and 'the
Almighty' are titles and descriptions of the ONE AND THE SAME
PERSON - the Lord Jesus Christ, Who washed us from our sins in His
own blood. We have been redeemed with the 'blood of God'. Paul in Acts
20:28 said. "Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock,
over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the
church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood." After
Jesus had experienced death, burial and resurrection, Thomas, in John
20:28 declared Him to be "My Lord and my God". 1st. John 5:20
declares Jesus Christ to be "the True God, and eternal Life". Romans 9:5
also declares Jesus Christ to be God - Supreme Deity. The references
goes on and on.

The Spirit of God in John, especially in the Book of Revelation, clearly

expresses the Supreme Deity of Jesus Christ and reveals the Godhead
as ONE God. Still man insists on telling God that He is 'three' and not
'one'. With the carnal mind, man 'starts' with the Father and says: The
Father is God; then the Son is God; and of course the Holy Spirit is
God; therefore, that makes three persons. But the 'spiritual' mind 'starts'
with "One God" and says: God is the Father; God is the Son; and God is
the Holy Spirit - One God in three major manifestations of His Character!
The Trinity - three person concept of the Godhead is a carnal
interpretation of a spiritual revelation - hidden from the eyes of the
wise and prudent and revealed to babes such as would learn (Matthew
11:28). As we have already stated above - to have 'three persons' is to

have 'three Gods'.

It is also pointed out by Trinitarians that there were "three" present at the
Baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist. They explain that the Father was in
Heaven, the Holy Spirit was somewhere between heaven and earth; and
Jesus, the Son, was on earth. But there is no "clearer proof" of God's
majesty and manifestations than this picture of Jesus in the river Jordan.
It is well within the realms of Divine Omnipotence for God to be in
heaven and on earth at the same time. JESUS CLAIMED HIMSELF
TO BE JUST THAT - on earth and in heaven at the same time.

Note John 3:13.....

And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, [even]
the Son of man which is in heaven.

Note John 1:18.....

No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the
Father, he hath declared [him].

In John 14:10 Jesus claimed that it was the Father who dwelt IN Him that
did the marvelous works. IF the Father remains in heaven while the
Spirit descended, WHERE and HOW did the Father get into Christ?
This question leads us to one conclusion - the Spirit who descended also
had to be the Father.

Another point in question for the trinitarians is the scene of Jesus

praying in the Garden of Gethsemane - to whom did He pray? Also, in
an attempt to support their concept of two or three persons in the
Godhead, they point to Jesus on the Cross, praying to the Father. A
Trinitarian would ask, "Did Jesus pray to Himself? If not, then there must
be another person in the Godhead to whom He is praying."

The key to simplify our understanding of these scenarios is in

recognizing His deity and His humanity. Jesus was not praying to
Himself. If He were an ordinary man - born in sin, that would have been
the case; but Jesus was NOT an ordinary man - He was God and man! He
had a dual nature and was performing a dual role. In Jesus, it was His
humanity praying to His divinity - a man praying to the God that He was.
A God that was both in Him and in heaven (John 14:10; Matthew

 12:50).

One well-known 'Christian' magazines contained the following

statement, by a modern theologian, defending the Trinity teaching:
".....the New Testament with equal clearness teaches that the Father is
God, and the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, and that these three
are NOT three aspects of the same Person, but three persons standing in
a truly personal relationship to one another. There we have the great
doctrine of the Three Persons but one God."

Such a statement makes neither common or spiritual sense. To

believe such a statement can best be described in the Words of Jesus:
"[Ye] blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel....which
indeed appear beautiful outward..... outwardly appear righteous unto
men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity." Matthew
23:24,27-28. We preach to a generation blinded by the "tradition of the
elders". But there is hope - We have a promise of a restoration of Truth
and God has fulfilled that promise.

Along with many other teachings of the early church, the true
understanding of the Godhead as ONE God was lost when the leadership
of the Holy Spirit in the church was usurped by the leadership of man.
Holy Ghost leadership and God's 'predestinated plan' was feed to the
lions, burned at the stake, tortured to death; and (without the Holy
Ghost) human leadership, organized religion and made-made theology
and programs came in. The True Church entered that time of it's history
which we refer to as 'the dark ages'.

BUT PRAISE THE LORD FOR FULFILLING THE PROMISE OF A

RESTORATION OF ALL THINGS - including the mystery of the
Godhead, the correct formula for Water Baptism, the 'Original' sin, and
many other mysteries - finishing the Mystery of God, as promised in
Malachi 4:5-6, Revelation 10:1-7, Matthew 17:11 and Acts 3:21 PLUS
many other references. Thank God for sending His Prophet, with the
Truth, to this end-time age.

Further Revelation On The Godhead

Based on excerpts from a series of messages preached by William Branham on The Seven Church

Let's seriously consider what Jesus said in Revelations chapter 1 - He said, "I am
Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending, saith the Lord, Which Is, and
Which Was, and Which Is to Come, the Almighty". This is Deity. This is not simply
a prophet, a man. This is God. And it is not a revelation of three Gods, but of
ONE God, the Almighty.

Ponder this Question: In the light of a trinity - three person teaching, Who was
the Father of Jesus? The Trinitarian would say that the 'first' person of the
Godhead - God the Father was the Father of Jesus. BUT in Matthew 1:18 the Bible
says, "She was found with child of the Holy Ghost". Jesus, Himself, claimed that
God was His Father. Therefore, God the Father and God the Holy Ghost, as we
often express these terms, make the Father and the Spirit ONE. Indeed they
are, or else Jesus had two Fathers. But notice that Jesus said that He and His
Father were One--not two. That makes ONE God.

This trinity (an absolutely unscriptural word) was based upon the many gods of
Rome. The Romans had many gods to whom they prayed. They also prayed to
ancestors as mediators. It was just a step to give new names to old gods, so we have
saints to make it more Biblical. Thus, instead of Jupiter, Venice, Mars, etc., we
have Paul, Peter, Fatima, Christopher, etc., etc. They could not make their pagan
religion work out with just one God, so they split Him up into three, and they
made intercessors of the saints as they had made intercessors of their
ancestors.

Ever since then people have failed to realize that there is just one God with three
offices or manifestations. They know there is one God according to Scripture, but
they try to make it the fantastic theory that God is like a three leaf clover - one stem
with three leaves; or like a bunch of grapes; three persons with the same Divinity
shared equally by all. But it plainly says here in Revelation that Jesus is "That
Which Is", "That Which Was", and "That Which Is to Come". He is the
"Alpha and Omega", which means that He is the "A to Z" or THE ALL OF
IT. He is everything - the Almighty. He is the Rose of Sharon, the Lily of the
Valley, the Bright and Morning Star, the Righteous Branch, the Everlasting Father,
the Son, and the Holy Ghost. He is God, Almighty God. ONE GOD.

In 1st. Timothy 3:16 the Bible says...

"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified
in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into
Glory".

The Bible doesn't say a thing about a first or second or third person here. It says
God was manifest in flesh. One God. That ONE GOD was manifested in flesh.
That ought to settle it. God came in a human form. That didn't make Him
ANOTHER GOD. HE WAS GOD, THE SAME GOD. It was a revelation then,
and it is a revelation now. One God - revealed to babes such as would learn.

Let's go back in Scripture and see what He was in the beginning according to the
revelation He gave of Himself. We will not consider every Scripture relating to the
Godhead because once one gets into the Spirit of Revelation ALL Scriptures are
tied together, showing ONE God - One Person.

In Genesis 1:1 God is revealed as 'the Creator'. The Bible says, "In the beginning
God created the heaven and the earth." Well, who was this God - Elohim, the "self-
existing One" who created ALL things? The answer is found in John 1:1-3, 9-11.
Referring to Jesus, the Christ, John said:

Verses 1-3: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not
any thing made that was made.
Verses 9 - 11: [That] was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He
was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his
own, and his own received him not.

Again in Colossians 1:14-19 the Bible says:

In whom we have redemption through his blood, [even] the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image
of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in
heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether [they be] thrones, or dominions, or
principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the
church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all [things] he might have the
preeminence. For it pleased [the Father] that in him should all fulness dwell;

Without a doubt the Creator "God" referred to in Genesis 1:1 is none other
than the Lord Jesus Christ. The above Scriptures prove this beyond any show of
doubt. "He was in the world and the world was made by Him and the world knew
Him not". And the world, blinded by a three person conception of God, still

doesn't know Him.

Before there was a star, a sun, a moon, or the earth - there was God, in Eternity -
the Great Eternal invisible Spirit, dwelling alone with his thoughts. There was still
no "WORD" (as spoken of in John 1:1 above) because God had not yet
expressed His thoughts - a 'word' is a thought expressed. Before expressing His
Great Eternal thoughts He devised a plan and a purpose for the creation of the
angels, the universe and mankind. He rehersed that plan from it's beginning to it's
end - knowing every aspect of it - even the 'fall of man' thereby producing (in His
thoughts) the "Lamb slain before the foundation of the world" (Revelation 13:8).
In the mind of God "the works were finished from the foundation of the world"
(Hebrews 4:3).

Then one day God "expressed" his "thoughts" and the WORD appeared in Logos-
Pillar of Fire form - like a Son before the doorstep of His Father; yet, not another
person, but an "attribute" of the fullness of God - the image of God in Logos-Word
form. God was made visible in His universe. And in this Anointed Logos form He
created ALL things. In the fullness of time He would condescend to be
manifested in flesh and be called "Jesus, the Christ". All that was in God - the
great Eternal Spirit, was poured into Christ - the Anointed ONE; ALL that was in
Chirst (in the form of the Holy Ghost) was poured into the Bride of Christ. It is
"Christ in us", the hope of glory. See? It's one Person, One God, Just changing His
form.

He appeared to Israel in a pillar of fire by night and a cloud by day. As the Angel
of the Covenant He lived in that pillar of fire and led Israel through the wilderness.
At the temple He announced His coming with a great cloud. Then one day He was
manifested in a virgin born body that was prepared for Him. The God that
tabernacled above the tents of Israel now took on Himself a tent of flesh and
tabernacled as a man amongst men. But He was the SAME GOD.

The Bible teaches that GOD was manifested in flesh and known among men as
"Jesus, the Christ". The BODY was Jesus but in Him dwelt all the fulness of the
Godhead, BODILY. Nothing can be plainer than that. Mystery, yes. But actual truth
- it can't be plainer. So if He wasn't three people then, He can't be three now.

Jesus said, "I came from God and I go (back) to God". John 16:27-28. That is
exactly what happened. He disappeared from earth by way of His death, burial,
resurrection, and ascension. Then Paul met Him on the road to Damascus - What
form was he in? He was back to a Pillar of Fire again. Speaking out of the Pillar of
Fire a voice spoke saying, "Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou Me?" Paul said, "Who

art Thou, Lord?" The Voice answered saying, "I am Jesus." He had turned back,
exactly as He said He would. Back to the same form that He was before He took on
a tabernacle of flesh. That is exactly how John saw it. John 1:18 "No man hath
seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, Which is in the bosom of the Father,
He hath declared Him". Notice where John says that Jesus IS. He is IN the
bosom of the Father.

In Luke 2:11 the Bible says, "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a
Saviour, Which is Christ the Lord". He was born the Christ, and eight days later
when He was circumcised He was named Jesus, even as the angel had told them. I
was born a Branham. When I was born they gave me the name of William. He was
CHRIST but He was given a name down here among men. That outward
tabernacle men could see was called Jesus. He was the Lord of Glory, the Almighty
manifested in flesh. He is God the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. He is all that.

Another key to understanding the Godhead is to remember that Father, Son,

and Holy Ghost are just titles - They are not names. That is why we baptize in
the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ - It is the name of those titles, just like you take a
new born baby who is a son and name him. Baby is what it is, son is the title, then
you name him, John Henry Brown. You just don't baptize in 'Jesus Name`. There
are thousands in the world we are called Jesus; and have been even before Jesus,
our Saviour came to earth. But there was only one of them born the Christ. And
Peter said in Acts 2:36 that God had made this same Jesus both "Lord" and "Christ"
- The Lord Jesus Christ - the NAME of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
God has many titles but He has only one human name and that name is Jesus.

Then of course, there is the issue of Jesus "supposedly" being the Eternal Son of
God. Now isn't that a contradiction? Whoever heard of a `Son' being eternal?
Sons have beginnings, but that which is eternal never had a beginning. He is the
Eternal God (Jehovah) manifested in the flesh. To produce the body in which He
would live on earth, God by His creative spoken Word place a germinated egg
(conceived by the Holy Spirit) in the womb of a virgin named Mary - the only
Woman in Scripture ordained to carry the Word - she carried it for nine months.

In St. John's Gospel the Bible says, "In the beginning was the Word and the Word
was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh and dwelt
among us." He was the True and Faithful Witness to the Father's eternal Word. He
was the God-Man; the God-Prophet; the Lamb of God and could say what the
Father bade Him say. He said, "I and my Father are one...My Father is in Me". He
is the WAY, the Truth, the Life - No man can come to the Father except through
Jesus Christ; and no man can come to Christ except the Father draws him.

We're dealing with ONE and the SAME being.

Don't be confused because he has three offices or that He has a threefold

manifestation. Notice! On earth He was a Prophet; in heaven He is the Priest; and
coming back to earth, He is King of Kings. "He That Was" - That is Jesus, the
Prophet. "He That Is" - That is He, the High Priest, making intercession - One
Who can be touched with the feelings of our infirmities. "Which Is to Come" -
That is the coming King.

Also, notice this fact about Jesus. On earth He was Prophet, Lamb, and Son. This
did not make Him three. These were but manifestations or offices of the One
Person, Jesus. You the reader may be in the same situation - If a man, you are a
son, a brother, perhaps a husband, father and grandfather - but that does not
make you three, for our five different persons - you are ONE. Some have claims
on you as a son, others have claims on you as a brother, a husband or father, etc.;
but you're still only one person, possessing the peresonality of a son, a brother,
a husband and a father.

In another futile attempt to prove that there is more than one person in the Godhead
the trinitarians go to Revelation 5:6-8:

"And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the
elders, stood a Lamb as It had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven
Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. And He came and took the book out of the right hand of
Him That sat upon the throne. And when He had taken the book, the four beasts and four and
twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of
odors, which are the prayers of saints"

Indeed these verses, if isolated, would seem to prove their point. You notice, I said,
these ISOLATED verses. But we're intructed to compare Scripture with Scripture.
Therefore, let's go a little further and read Revelation 4:2-3 and 9-11:

"And immediately I was in the Spirit: and behold, a throne was set in heaven, and ONE sat on the
throne. And He That sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a
rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.

And when those beasts give glory and honor and thanks to Him That sat on the throne, Who liveth
for ever and ever, the four and twenty elders fall down before Him That sat on the throne, and
worship Him That liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art
worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for Thou hast created all things, and for
Thy pleasure they are and were created."

Carefully note in verse two it says, "ONE" (not two or three but ONE) sat on

the throne. In verse three it says, "HE" (NOT they) was to look upon as a jasper
stone. In verse nine it says that the beasts gave honor to "HIM" (not them). In
verse ten it says that the elders fell down before "HIM" (not them). In verse
eleven it says that they cried, Thou art worthy O LORD" (not Lords). Also in verse
eleven it says this ONE on the throne was the "Creator", Which is Jesus (John
1:3), Which is Jehovah-Spirit-God of the Old Testament (Genesis 1:1).

Let's go a little further and consider Revelation 3:21:

"To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with Me in My throne, even as I also overcame, and am
set down with My Father in His throne."

Also Hebrews 12:2:

"Looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith; Who for the joy that was set before Him
endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."

Notice that according to Jesus, Himself, Who wrote the Revelation, He is set down
WITH the Father in HIS throne. The Spirit in Paul (Which Spirit is the Spirit of
Christ, for That is the Spirit of Prophecy whereby the Word comes) says He is set
down at the RIGHT HAND of the throne of God. But when John looked he saw
only "ONE" upon the throne. And it was not until Revelation 5:6-8 (which
follows Revelation 4:2-3 in sequence of time) that we see the "Lamb" taking the
book from "HIM" that sat on the throne, as indicated in Revelation 4:2-3 and 9-10.
What is it? It is the mystery of "ONE GOD." Again, the key to understanding this
portion of Scripture is to understand that the "Lamb" which John saw was in
symbolic form - a Lamb, as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes,
representing Jesus Christ and His ministry through the oncoming Seven Church
Ages.

He (Jesus), came out from God, became manifested in flesh, died and rose again,
and returned to the "Bosom of the Father." As John said, "The only begotten Son
Which is IN the bosom of the Father, He hath declared Him." John 1:18. On the
Day of Pentecost, according as Jesus promised in John 14:16 - 18, 23, the Father
and the Son came to abide with the Church in the form of the Holy Ghost. Most
Trinitarians use John 14:16 - out of context - in an effort to prove a plurality of
persons in the Godhead. But once we read the context of that Scripture we see again
the glorious revelation of ONE person in the Godhead.

The Bible says...

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you

for ever; [Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither
knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you
comfortless: I will come to you.

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will
love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him............John 14:16-18,23

The Trinitarians emphasize only verse 16 wherein 'Jesus' said that He would pray
to the 'Father' to give the disciples 'another' Comforter to 'abide' with them forever.
But they fail to continue on to verse 17 wherein Jesus told them that the Comforter
(The Spirit of Truth) was "already with them" but shall be "in them". Of course,
that was Jesus "WITH" them because Jesus is the Truth and the Life. Then Jesus
goes on in verse 18 to identify the Comforter saying, "I" will not leave you comfort:
"I" will come to you". Jesus Himself was the Comforter, but before He could
come IN THEM He would have to experience 'death, burial, resurrection' and go
back into Logos form again (John1:1-3); and then return on the Day of Pentecost to
indwell the Church - His Bride.

In this same chapter of John 14, Jesus, further magnifies the "Oneness" of the
Godhead. In Verse 20 He said, "At that day ye shall know that I AM in my Father,
and ye in me, and I in you". He continues onto verse 23 and crowns this revelation
stating that "If a man love me, he will keep my words: and My Father will love him,
and WE WILL COME and make our ABODE WITH HIM." So, who is abiding
with who? According to verse 16 the Comforter (the Spirit of Truth) was to abide
with them (the disciples) for ever. According to verse 23 Jesus and the Father
would come and make their abode with the disciples. It couldn't be more clear -
ALL these Scriptures speak of ONE and the Self-same being - the ONE True and
Living God - the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul expressed it this way: "Christ in us, the
hope of glory". The apostle John said, ".....he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the
Father also" (1st John 2:23).

In this Scriptural study about the offices and manifestations of the one true God, let
us remember that HE is not to be known intellectually. He is known Spiritually; by
Spiritual revelation. The Great I Am, the Almighty God, has come as Spirit to fill
His true church. He has a right to move anywhere He wants to, and upon anybody
He wants to. We don't make any "holy men" amongst us, but the whole true
congregation of the Lord is holy, because of the presence of the Holy Spirit. It is
He, the Holy Spirit, that is holy, not the congregation of itself.

This study could easily have been expanded far beyond these pages; but sufficient
Scripture and exhortation has been put forward for the Holy Spirit to use and

 enlighten those of a humble and contrite spirit. Jesus Christ is God. The Jehovah of
the Old Testament is the Jesus of the New. No matter how hard you try, you
can't prove there are THREE Gods. But it also takes a revelation by the Holy
Spirit to make you understand the truth that He is One. It takes a revelation to
see that the Jehovah of the Old Testament is the Jesus of the New. Satan crept into
the church and blinded the people to this truth. And when they were blinded to it, it
wasn't long until the Church of Rome stopped baptizing in the Name of the
Lord Jesus Christ, and substituted the "titles" of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost
- omitting the "Name".
