Overview

Position Description
Logistics Operations APAC is part of Logistics Services, Group Truck Operations. We
have approximately 500+ employees in 21 locations within the APAC regions. Our
job is to design, handle and optimize the supply chain for all Volvo Group brands
and for selected customers within the regions. The scope for Logistics Operations
APAC includes making sure that material is transported to the production facilities,
that packaging is available, that vehicles are distributed to the dealers, and that
management of material, warehouses and distribution ensures the availability of
parts in the region APAC. We make sure all logistics services are delivered with
world class operational excellence.

SCOPE
This position has the overall responsibility for all activities related to the Distribution
Centre Operations of GTO Logistics Services DC Indonesia. This includes activities
supporting all Volvo Group business in the Region including Volvo CE, Volvo Group
Trucks, Volvo Bus and Volvo Penta. The primary interface with these entities is
through Sales and Marketings Aftermarket Commercial function.

This position is a Key Leadership position under Leading Leader category of Volvo
Group Leadership Pipeline. The position represents Group Tucks Operations
Logistics Services Indonesia in PT. VOLVO INDONESIA

This Position reports to the Director Distribution Center, South East Asia and
belong to APAC Operations of GTO, Logistics Services Organization.

MISSION

To provide efficient Logistics Services to the distribution network within the area of
responsibility.
To secure utilization of Volvo Group assets and optimize the logistics operations
within the area of responsibility.
Operational liaison with selected Volvo Commercial organizations within the area of
responsibility
DIRECT REPORTS TO THE ABOVE POSITION
DC Inbound, DC Outbound, DC Traffic Operations, DC Operational Support & DC
Service Centre

ROLES AND RESPOSIBILITIES


Delivery of Distribution Center KPIs given as follows

KPI 5 Parts Outbound Quality Index


KPI 8 Operating Cost as % volume
KPI 9 Transport Cost as % volume
KPI 13 Employee Engagement Index
KPI 15 Safety Incident Rate
Accountability and optimization of performance for all operational processes related
to Distribution Center Indonesia.
Ensure the whole organization is supporting the Group Trucks Operations Strategic
Objectives by actively planning, communicating and monitoring performance in all
key areas.
Operational internal interface and external customer satisfaction within area of
responsibility. Interface to regional material suppliers, dealers etc. for transportation
operational matters
Improve internal and external communication and relationships to ensure needs of
our organization and customers are being met.
Develop and administer operating budget and resource management
Drive Operational Excellence through the effective implementation and application
of the Volvo Group VPS methodology
Monitor, Plan and develop individuals in the organization through the utilization of
Volvo Tools like Personal Business Planning, Competency Development etc

Participation and contribution in key transformation projects on all activities related


to Distribution Center Indonesia by showcasing project management competencies
and skills
Compliance to Internal/ External Audits without any non- conformance and ensuring
adherence to systems and processes with respect to ISO 9001 and 14001
Develop an engaged organization through the insistence on and the application of
the Volvo Way
Responsible for occupational health, safety and environmental obligations (OSHAS)
in the GTO Logistics Services in Indonesia
Responsible for healthy employee relations at the warehouse with unionized
workforce and develop relationship towards better employee engagement
Other duties as reasonably required from time to time.
Critical Competencies for the position

The Role Holder carries extensive experience and expertise level in both Functional
Competencies and Leadership Competencies to deliver the defined Business
Objectives.

The position requires extensive experience in Logistics, Operational processes and


experience in Volvo Supply Chain processes (production and/or aftermarket) and
tools as well as a strong understanding of business challenges in an international
environment. The Role Holder to have documented experience in Supply Chain
management.
The Position requires strong functional competence to work with cross functional
mindset and skills in order to carry complete GTO Logistics Services Organization
towards all commitments to our end customers.

The position brings Leadership role to represent all common matters related to
Group Trucks Operations in local Country Management Team and thereby bring a

well as an active team worker.
The Role Holder is skilled in coaching and facilitation as well as having a good
understanding of interpersonal relations and organizational development. He/she is
a strong communicator with good influencing skills, also able to create trusting
relationships in spite of cultural differences and geographical distance
Strong interpersonal skills with a high degree of flexibility, including the ability to
network effectively across a diverse organization and to build enduring relationships
across functional areas and geographical areas.
Significant change management experience and demonstrated ability to set
demanding targets and to motivate teams and individuals to deliver outside their
comfort zones, whilst further developing an excellent working climate and
atmosphere in alignment with the Volvo Way and the Code of Conduct.
Location: The location of the Position is in Balikpapan / Indonesia

QUALIFICATION

A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience & with Leadership Experience of 5


years in the Supply Chain Management areas. Ability to understand and handle
Industrial relations issues involving Industrial workers at warehousing environment
Language Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesian is added advantage.
Tertiary Education / Qualification in Management, Logistics or related discipline
Fulltime preferred
Formal Training in either Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma/Total Quality Management
Good experience of change management and demonstrated ability to challenge an
organization
IT systems knowledge. VIPS or SAP
GENERAL SKILLS REQUIRED

As all documentation is in English, proficiency in the English language is must.


Proficiency in MS Windows applications specifically Excel & Power Point.
The individual has the ability to frequent travel.
