Introduction

The College of Business Administration has a total of six courses, one of

which is BBA Major in Entrepreneurship. The academic organization of the said
course is called the Young Entrepreneurs Society of Silliman or YESS for short.
YESS was founded in 1992 and has since then have been the primary
organization of Entrepreneurship Majors in CBA.
A Code of Ethics is an important aspect in ensuring ethical practices in
any organization. It may be for the executives, the employees, the customers or
even partners. In the academe, organizations are expected to give values-based
service to their members so that their college experience will be satisfactory.
Values are sometimes ignored in the pursuit of the members satisfaction.
In every organization, there are certain weakness and lapses when it
comes to its ethical practices. YESS is not an exception. This paper aims identify

these weakness and lapses in order to critic the said organization. Through
applying the standards learned in Business Ethics class, the group, by the end of
this paper, aspires to recommend relevant courses of action that will enable the
organization to improve.

II.

Profile of the Organization

Young Entrepreneurs Society of Silliman (YESS) was founded in 1992.

Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Business Management Major in
Entrepreneurship are automatically members of YESS. YESS is composed
mainly of the officers and members but the supervision of the advisers are strictly
required. YESS also engages in outreach programs like re-painting public
schools and sponsoring feeding programs.
A. Vision and Mission of the Organization
In a short conversation with its current president, she mention that
the organization had no clear vision and mission and that they base it on the
goals of the Entrepreneurship Department which states: In harmony with the
objectives of the College of Business Administration, the curriculum for the
Entrepreneurship major is designed to equip, prepare and encourage the
student to be a dynamic and innovative business-owner upon graduation. He
is envisioned to generate jobs for himself and for others and to eventually
help build his nation. At the same time, the overall academic preparation is

geared towards his development as a law-abiding, socially responsible

Christian entrepreneur.
When asked about the meaning of the words OPPORTUNITY, RISK,
and WEALTH in the logo of YESS, the president answered that it means:
the creation of WEALTH under the conditions of Risk and as entrepreneurs,
we look for OPPORTUNITIES.

III. Ethical Program

Transparency
We are committed to provide information disclosure, clarity, and
accuracy so that the students will be properly informed about our organizations
financial activities.
Ethics
We always conduct our services honestly and honorably. We take proper account
of ethical considerations, together with the protection and enhancement of the moral
position of our members and officers.
Law-abiding
Our actions and advice will always conform to relevant law, and we believe that
all organizations, should avoid causing any adverse effect on the human rights of people
in the organizations we deal with, the local and wider environments, and the well-being
of society at large.
Environmental Care
Our organization gives great importance to our environment which is why we
will do our best to reduce, reuse, and recycle. We are also committed to participate in
environmental cleanups and outreach programs. We incorporate social responsibility.

Fees
Our fees are always carefully planned for what we provide, which is high
quality service. We always try to propose solutions which accommodate our members
available budgets and timescales. Wherever possible we agree our fees and basis of
charges clearly in advance, so that we and our members can plan reliably for what lies
ahead, and how it is to be achieved and financially justified.
Payment
We aim to be as flexible as possible in the way that our payments are collected.
Not all members can be able to pay at the scheduled dates, therefore, we do our best to
give considerations and still give the best quality of our organization.
Quality assurance
We maintain the quality of what we do through constant ongoing review, of all
aims, activities, outcomes and the cost-effectiveness of every activity. We encourage
regular review meetings and provide regular progress reports. This organization has been
accredited under Silliman University. Further details are available on request.
Professional conduct
We conduct all of our activities professionally and with integrity. We take great
care to be completely objective in our judgment and any recommendations that we give,
so that issues are never influenced by anything other than the best and proper interests of
our organization members.
Equality and discrimination

We always strive to be fair and objective in our advice and actions,

and we are never influenced in our decisions, actions or recommendations by
issues of gender, race, creed, color, age or personal disability.

IV. Analysis
V. Recommendation
The Young Entrepreneurs Society of Silliman is a relatively small
organization and has not yet established well their organization profile. The
group, suggest that they should have the organization vision, mission, and
objectives. In addition to this, we suggest our proposed ethics program to ensure
proper conducts of their officers and members. The ethics program are subject to
changes which should be able to match their organization goals.
