Microcell
Bolt-on, strain gauge, sensor technology for measuring
inventory weights on vessels with support structures.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

When you need weight inventory you want to use a weighing system. The Microcell is a highly
sensitive and thermally stable semiconductor strain gauge sensor, Kistler-Morse pioneered bolt-on
technology for measuring the contents of a wide range of bulk storage vessels. This sensor is still
the standard way to measure the weight-induced strain in a vessel with a leg support structure.
When Microcells are bolted on the vertical legs of a vessel, it converts the vessel into a weighing
system. Adding weight to a vessel compresses the gauge, changing the Microcells resistance which
produces an electrical output proportional to the material weight change.
The Microcell is quickly and easily installed while the vessel is still in productive use. An empty vessel
is not required for installation or calibration. For use on existing vessels with legs, the Microcell is a
cost-effective weighing solution compared to having to modify vessels for other types of weighing
sensors.
In combination with your existing vessels, the versatility of the Microcell can supply a cost effective,
easy to install, easy to maintain, highly reliable industrial strength weighing system. For cost and
performance, nothing can compare with the Microcell when weight is needed and weight is wanted.

SVS2000TM
A full-featured, high performance weight indicator for
in-process weighing and batching or inventory weighing
applications.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

The SVS2000TM accepts input signals from half- or full-bridge strain

gage load cells through a high resolution (up to 21-bit) analog-todigital converter. Resolution and gain are adjustable for optimal system
performance. Weight is displayed at the indicator and the data can be
serially polled from a master device. Analog and digital outputs can be
generated from the inputs to the SVS2000 to provide auxiliary controls.

FEATURES
AND BENEFITS
Quick Config
Adjusts system parameters and
precalibrates unit without special load
cells.
SentryTM DSP Filter
Separates mixer and plant vibrations
from weight changes. This provides
accurate and reliable weight readings.
High-speed, High-resolution Weight
Conversion
Performance for demanding
applications with up to 21-bit resolution.
Alphanumeric Backlit LCD Display
Simple, understandable operator
messages eliminates special coding/
decoding, cryptic setup and diagnostic
messages.
Displays the weight as a bar graph or
digital readout.
NEMA-4X Enclosure
ABS or optional stainless steel offers the
right protection for your environment.

The SVS2000 includes setpoint preact, digital interfaces and Kistler-Morses

SentryTM DSP filter which provides stable, accurate readings under a variety
of mixing conditions or plant vibrations. Sentry digitally separates the
vessel weight changes from the vibrations and dynamic conditions often
experienced on vessels with mixers. This provides stable and accurate
weight readings. Its flexibility allows you to optimize system performance so
it wont be fooled by sudden weight changes like other filter systems.
Using Quick Config, the SVS2000 is easy to setup and calibrate without test
weights or special load cells. Responses to simple Quick Config questions
provides the SVS2000 with the information needed to set up and calibrate
the system for your application. Within minutes, the SVS2000 provides
usable weight information. Later, when convenient, a more accurate
calibration is easily obtained by moving a known quantity of material.
The SVS2000 provides easy system configuration and expansion to meet
future requirements. Optional digital interfaces include Ethernet/IP, Profibus
DP, DeviceNet and RS422 serial.

The R. STAHL INTRINSPAK safety barriers of Series 9002 can be
used for various tasks in the field of automation. The wide product
range and scope of different combinations offer you a large field of
applications.
The safety barriers allow the intrinsically safe operation of HART
transmitters, proximity sensors, potential-free contacts,
temperature sensors, DMS, solenoid valves, indicators and others.
Due to the compact width, space-saving and flexible installation in
the switch cabinet is possible. Thanks to DIN-rail mounting and
simultaneous connection of the equipotential bonding, the
installation can be performed very easily.
