theloginscreenappears.Butwhenwetrytologin,itdisplaysaSAPGUI620sapdp00
error.

Analyzethedevelopertraces(dev_*)filesunder"usrsap<SID>DVEBMGS00work.The
lackofmemoryinyoursystemmightbetheculpritoftheproblem.AnythingbasedonWeb
AS6.20needsmuchmorethan128MBofRAM.Even512MBofRAMisthebarebone
minimumforaoneusertestsystem.Also,youshouldconsideraddingmorediskspaceand
morethanonedisk.Performancewithasinglediskisterrible.

Theexportedclient(viaSCC8)isnowavailableintheformoftransportsattheOSlevel
andit'salsoavailableforimportviaSTMSorTPIMPORT.IfyouareusingR/34.5or
higher,usetransactionSTMStoimporttheclient.SimplygototheImportOverviewin
STMSofthesystemwhereyouwanttoimporttheclientinto.Then,highlightthefirst
transportcreatedasaresultoftheexportandclickImport.Theimportwilltakeawhile.
Dependingonthesizeofthetransport,itmaytakeseveralhours.Oncetheimportis
complete,youneedtologintothetargetclientandruntransactionSCC7toperformthe
postclientimport,whichnormallydoesnottakelongatall.

Ihavenotdonethismyself,butitispossiblethatyouneedtochangeprogramSAPMSYST.
However,SAPdoesnotrecommendchangingitbecauseifsomethinggoeswrongyou
mightnotbeabletologintothesystematall.IwouldconsultwithSAPtoseeiftheyhave
awaytodowhatyou'reaskinghere.

Ontheotherhand,youcanaddtexttotheloginscreen.Thiscanbedoneeasilyvia
transactionSE61.ChangedocumentZLOGIN_SCREEN_INFOandaddthetextyouwant.
Thiswillappearthenattheloginscreen.Thisisanapproachthatalotofcompaniesuse.

Aquicksolutionwouldbetoinvokeascriptthatdisplaysthebannerfirstandtheninvokes
saplogon.exe.

10)WhicharetheimplicationstoallowtheABAPerstousetransactionssuchas
SM66,SM50,SM51,STAD,ST05andST04?AccordingtoourBASISteam,thisisnot
advisable,sinceitcouldallowtoABAPERStocancelworkprocessintheserver,
besidescancelinguserprocesses.Whatdoyouthinkaboutit?

Thisisoneofthosedecisionsmanagementneedstomake.EveniftheABAPdevelopers
hadaccesstothosetransactions,youwouldmostlikelybeabletofindoutwhattheydidby
readingthesystemlog.Inanidealenvironment,ABAPdevelopersshouldnothaveaccess
totheProductionsystem,onlyusers,businessanalystsandadministrators.ST04isaBasis
