Description:

The vertical tumbling action of the drums creates an aerobic environment that offers a quick and odorless form of off-the-ground
composting. The design features a rotating bin. The Tumbling Action helps to break up and aerate compost with every tumble. A daily
spin of approx 3 4 turns produces a neat compost heap in about 35 to 60 days. As with all tumblers that are not physically contiguous
with the soil below, a compost starter / accelerator is recommended. When care is taken by putting only small pieces used along
with a compost accelerator the compost time will be further reduced to 25 - 30 days. Also rotating the drums more often
helps to speed up the process.
The unit is of a sturdy two chamber construction with hinge covers held in place with an easy to operate cam lock allowing for easy
access when filling and emptying of the bin.
The product is constructed of a sturdy mild steel frame which is epoxy powder coated. The drum is manufactured from LLDP Sheets
ensuring long life and heat insulation. Two sturdy Bearings ensure easy turning by one person.

EAT - COMPOST - GROW

Environmental reasons
Do your bit to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill. Even for households that are already composting, new research has
found that almost half of the food waste in their rubbish bins could have been composted.
Did you know, composting at home for just one year can save global warming gases equivalent to all the CO2 your kettle
produces annually, or your washing machine produces in three months?
Why do I need to compost when my waste will break down in landfill anyway?
When waste is sent to landfill the transportation process puts Co2 in the air, At the landfill site air cannot get to the organic
waste. Therefore as the waste breaks down it creates a harmful greenhouse gas called methane which is 20 times worse than
Co2 as a greenhouse gas.
Alternately when this same waste is composted at source, oxygen helps the waste decompose aerobically which means hardly
any methane is produced good news for the planet.
The major goal of composting is to reduce the amount of solid waste you generate. Your solid waste is 90% air and water when
it leaves your home. Composting when complete will reduce it to 10% in volume.
Compost is a finished product that has several uses; in potted plants, gardens, traffic islands etc. The excess if any is a ready to
be sold product.
The compost pile actually has a complex combination of living organisms; a food web. Bacteria and fungi primarily break down
the organic matter in the trash. Single-celled organisms (protozoa), small worms (nematodes), and mites feed on the bacteria
and fungi. Predatory nematodes, predatory mites and other invertebrates (sow bugs, millipedes and beetles) feed on the
protozoa, mites and nematodes. All of these organisms work to balance the population of organisms within the compost, which
increases the efficiency of the entire process. Once the compost process is complete these organisms become dormant as their
survival conditions no longer exist.
Finished compost has the advantage of being a useful natural fertilizer that is more environmentally friendly than synthetic
fertilizers. This is the base for all organically grown products. Your compost is a nutrient-rich food product for your garden and
will help improve soil structure, maintain moisture levels, and keep your soil's PH balance in check while helping to suppress
plant disease. It will have everything your plants need including nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium and it will help buffer soils
that are very acidic or alkaline. Compost improves your soil's condition and your plants and flowers will love it! Grow your
Favorite greens herbs etc. Have fun and the green leaves around you will add oxygen to the air we breath.
Zero Waste:
Benefits for your Locality:
> Reduced garbage truck activity. Reduce your carbon footprint.
> No Garbage transportation reduced traffic congestion on our streets.
> Vegetable, Fruit and Flower gardens and a healthier tree and plant life. Add oxygen reverse the green house process.
> Community activity families interact with each other for a common cause. Share experiences and encourage each,
> A platform for other neighbor hood activities,

You can compost the following materials easily:

Wet waste: Fruit and vegetable wastes - peels, skins, seeds, leaves Egg shells Coffee grounds (including paper
filters), tea bags, used paper napkins, meat and dairy wastes Corncobs - should be shredded to make them break
down quickly
Garden waste Grass clippings - Some grass is okay, but too much will add excess nitrogen to the compost pile and
make it smell bad.
Dry waste: Leaves. Weeds, Woody materials (branches, twigs), Dry Grass or hay, Newspaper, Sawdust - This is
an excellent source of carbon.
