Selected for new position after success as graduate student employee with core responsibility to
assess and optimize center-wide. Build documentation and workflows for all stages of project
work. Manage large and small digital projects with cross-functional teams. Serve on various
committees and consult with leadership to execute digital strategy.
Highlighted Responsibilities & Contributions:

Consult with and train faculty, staff, and students on use of digital tools and methods
for teaching and research. In 201516 academic year:

Consulted with 20+ faculty to create infographics, podcasts, websites, multimedia


projects, digital posters, online courses, and more.

Led 20+ workshops and trainings on managing online identity, building websites,
using Big Data, data visualization, digital courses, and alternative careers for PhDs.

Design and manage first-of-its-kind Digital Scholarship Internship Program. Accepted


25+ graduate students in first year. Consulted with experts nationwide to design program
incorporating technical skills training, professional development, and project experience.
Presented at 2 domestic and 2 international conferences in first year.

Coordinate teams of scholars and technologists on six large, concurrent digital


projects with oversight of strategy, project milestones, and execution.

Led planning and development of online course for Emory School of Medicine. Project
launch after 8 months to 1,000+ residents, delegated management of course to
School of Medicine staff.

Strategized project business case and scope; drafted institutional agreements


between Emory, GSU, and SCAD; developed risk management plans for Unpacking
Manuels digital project, a 3D interactive digital archive of iconic Atlanta tavern.

Worked two part-time jobs during PhD program for total of 20+ hours per week while also
conducting dissertation research, writing, and teaching.
o Strategically designed and implemented new process for recruiting and publishing
academic reviews from subject matter experts. Increased output and breadth of
reviews published from 13 to 31 in a two year period, sustained pace thereafter.
o Instructional design and content development for Emorys first two Massive Open
Online Courses on Coursera, with total enrollments of 80,000+ in initial deployment.
o Created and implemented workflow processes and publication management using
Trello project management platform (trello.com). Selected to adapt that process to
center-wide workflow as part of full-time role.

Led planning, site mapping and design, development of user stories, and media
production for ECDS Battle of Atlanta mobile app that informs users about history
of Civil War in Atlanta, guides them to sites of significance, and displays multimedia
content.
