Testing dynamic SDCCH - blocking static SDCCHs failed

Hi,
our customer wants to test dynamic SDCCH, but unfortunatley we can't block the s
tatic SDCCHs by using the command:
ZOS:*,<WO-EX MCMU>,1B4,,,,,5996,,,<BTS>,<TRX>,<RTSL>,7
When executing the commans the static SDCCH remains in WO....
Can anyone please tell me the right command to block the static SDCCHs?
What is the command to change the static SDCCHs back to WO ?
cheers.

Hi,
You can use the below commands:
Block SDCCH:ZDDS:MCMU,(WO);
ZOS:*,*,1B4,,,,,5996,,,XW<BTS ID (HEX)>, <TRX ID (HEX)>,1,7;
Unlock SDCCH:ZDDS:MCMU,(WO);
ZOS:*,*,1B4,,,,,9500,,,XW<BTS ID (HEX)>, <TRX ID (HEX)>,1;

Hi,
I tested it, but it didn't work either.
What does that "XW" in your command mean ?
I entered that:
ZDDS:MCMU,0; (WO)

ZOS:*,*,1B4,,,,,5996,,,A,1,1,7 (for BTS,10 TRX,1 RTSL,1)

It doesn't work and I got the log-entry -- too short message (ignored)
I fille up the command with some ",,," at the end, but still it doesn't work.
cheers.

Hi,
You need to put XW in the command. Thus, XWA,1,1,7

Hi,
OK, now it seems to work.
Only one remaining question:
When I check the E00 extension to see the status of the static SDCCH,
there is "UNINIT" displayed instead of "BLOCKED".
Is that OK?
cheers.

Hi,
Yes it is ok.
You can use ZTVI:48; to see whether FACCH is activated when SDCCH is blocked.

Hi,
You will not see that the TS is blocked with ZERO but you need to look at a high
er level.
did you check with

Take BSC Radio Resource Monitoring into use:
ZLE:<char>,E00_BXSX
where <char> is a letter chosen for the extension.
Output the RTSL state information:
Z<char>TC:<bts_id>,<trx_id>
<LI type=a>Take BSC Radio Resource Monitoring into use:
ZLE:<char>,E00_BXSX
where <char> is a letter chosen for the extension.

Output the RTSL state information:
Z<char>TC:<bts_id>,<trx_id>
You should be able to see the number of free and used SDCCH (not at radio TS but
in the bottom lines).
This command was working for me...
Don't forget to unlock the SDCCH afterwards... check dynamic SDCCH deactivation
in NED...

Hi,
so, we managed to block the static SDCCH.
Now we have the problem, that no TCH is temporary reconfigured
into a dynamic SDCCH and all the callsetups are NOK.
We executed the following commands as well:
ZWOC:10,42,FF;
ZWOC:10,15,0;
Has anyone an idea what can be the reason?
cheers.

Hi

May be worth changing TRXSIG LAPD to 32K if you are using 16K links and see if i
t works then?

Hi,
yes we can try.
But I don't know how to explain that to the customer.
If it is working with 32k it means they have to reconfigure
all TRXSIGs in the network to get the feature working...
Currently they use 16k for the TRXSIGs...and this feature
should work with 16k as well....
cheers.

Hi,
I got the feedback from the customer:
The configured the following
RTSL,0: MBCCH
RTSL,1: SDCCH
--> When they block the SDCCH on RTSL,1 no dynamic SDCCH is used.
Then they configured it in that way:
RTSL,0: MBCCHC
--> When they block the SDCCH on RTSL,0 the dynamic SDCCH is used.
Question:
Why is the first configuration NOK?
cheers.

Hi Jurgen
There is also a limit for max number of SDCCH per BCSU, in first example there a
re 8 SDCCH and in second example there are 4 SDCCH. So maybe you are exceeding o
verall SDCCH Limit per BCCSU with first example and therefore cannot dynamically
allocate another?
Max SDCCH count per BCSU = 12* max trx count per bcsu

Hi,
I think I found in NED the solution:
The maximum number of dynamic and static SDCCH channels together is limited to 1
2 subchannels (that is, SDCCH/4 and SDCCH/8) in the TRXs that use the 16 kbit/s
link for the Telecom signalling. TRXs of higher capacity signalling link (32 kbi
t/s or 64 kbit/s) can be configured up to 16 SDCCHs.
That means, if we have 16k TRXSIG and we define a static SDCCH (SDCCH/8) the sys
tem will not allocate a dynamic SDCCH (SDCCH/8) as the max. number of dyn+stat S
DCCH channels will exceed 12 subchannels. When defining a MBCCHC (SDCCH/4) there
is space left for a dynamic SDCCH (SDCCH/8)...
Thanks to all for your effort.

Hello,
I made the
ZWOC:10,42,FF;
ZWOC:10,15,0;
to activate the Dynamic SDCCH on BSC and also the test on active MCMU but I dont
understand the results.

Can anyone share some logs or documentation about how to test this feature and p
robe the customer that is working?
Thanks in advance
Gonzalo

Hi Gonzalo,
Activation of Dyn SDCCH only needs Param 10:42 (DYNAMIC_SDCCH) to be TRUE, no ot
her license etc needed. Just you need to note the details like TRXSIG BR and tot
al number of allowed SD per TRX considerations, well discussed in NED, this Thre
ad and also http://careforum.emea.nsn-net.net/showthread.php?t=14881 .
For testing you can either capture in a ZERO output like sample in above mention
ed link (just to see receiving Dyn. SD) or follow procedure of manually blocking
the Static SDCCH & FACCH call setup and try to monitor counter 1154 in Traffic
type report,
