RationalefortheProgramme
Mechanical engineering is one of the oldest disciplines of engineering. Designing and
manufacturingofmechanicalmachineryandequipmenthavebeenthereworldoverformany
centuries.MechanicalEngineering is a foundational discipline, criticalto the success of many
enterprises. It plays a key role in energy, transportation, development of infrastructure and
manufacturingofconsumerdurables.
Presently,mechanicalengineersarecontributinginresearchanddevelopmentpertainingto
environmentalandbiomedicalfields.Mechanicalengineersareresponsibleforselectionand
processingofecofriendlymaterialsandprocesses,designandfabricationofmedicaldevices
andprosthesestoimprovequalityoflife.
ThemechanicalengineeringprogrammeatFacultyofEngineeringandTechnologyatMSRUAS
has been developed by the members of the faculty based on their teaching experience and
longstandinginteractionswithvariousuniversitiesandindustriesinIndiaandabroad.
The curriculum is outcome based and helps students to develop critical thinking abilities and
imbibe relevant practical skills for a smooth transition from academics to reallife work

The Mechanical Engineering degree programme will impart knowledge of mechanical systems
and their sub systems; enhances the understanding of underlying engineering principles that
governthebehaviorofmechanicalsystems;teachanalyticalmodeling,simulationandanalysisto
studythebehaviorofmechanicalsystems;providetheskillstodesign,buildandtestmechanical
systems. It also trains students on personal development and interactive skills with a feel for
