Death to
Life, Part
5 (Just
Jesus
Evangelis
tic
Campaig
n, Day
58)
TEXT:
John
5:26-30
26 For as
the
Father
hath life
in
himself;
so hath
he given
to the
Son to
have life
in
himself;
27 And
hath
given
him
authority
to
execute
judgment
also,
because
he is the
Son of
man.
28 Marvel
not at
this: for
the hour
is
coming,
in the
which all
that are
in the
graves
shall
hear his
voice,
29 And
shall
come
forth;
they that
have
done
good,
unto the
resurrect
ion of
life; and
they that
have
done
evil, unto
the
resurrect
ion of
damnatio
n.
30 I can
of mine
own self
do
nothing:
as I hear,
I judge:
and my
judgment
is just;
because I
seek not
mine
own will,
but the
will of
the
Father
which
hath sent
me.
---------Today, I
am
continuin
g the
daily Just
Jesus
Evangelis
tic
Campaig
n sermon
series,
which is
aimed at
sharing
the
Gospel of
the Lord
Jesus
Christ
with
unbelieve
rs and
remindin
g
Christian
s, in this
important
election
year, to
keep the
main
thing the
main
rs with
the
Gospel of
the Lord
Jesus
Christ
and
praying
for their
salvation,
for the
problem
in
America
is not
only
disobedie
nt
president
s
politician
s, and
people,
but
disobedie
nt
pastors,
preacher
s, and
parishion
ers who
have
refused
to obey
the
Lords
Great
Commiss
ion which
is to, Go
ye
therefore,
and teach
all
nations
and who
have
refused
to obey
God's
repeated
comman
ds to
"pray
without
ceasing"
for
unbelieve
rs,
believers,
and
political
leaders.
Yes, you
should
pray for
the right
candidate
to win;
yes, you
should
vote for
the
candidate
that the
Lord
gives you
peace
about
voting
for. But,
don't get
caught
up in it
like the
world
does.
Nothing
much is
going to
change
until
people
get saved
and get
their
hearts
right with
the Lord.
This
campaign
is
inspired
by the
following
three
verses: 1
Corinthia
ns 2:2
which
says,
"For I
determin
ed not to
know
anything
among
you, save
Jesus
Christ,
and him
crucified.
" Acts
5:42
which
says,
"And
daily in
the
temple,
and in
every
house,
they
ceased
not to
teach and
preach
Jesus
Christ."
And 2
Timothy
2:4 which
says, "No
man that
warreth
entanglet
h himself
with the
affairs of
this life;
that he
may
please
him who
hath
chosen
him to be
a
soldier."
This
series is
not for
Christian
s
necessari
ly.
However,
I do hope
you are
one of
those
saints
who still
loves to
hear the
"Old, old
story of
Jesus
and His
love" -As
another
hymn
says,
"For
those
who
know it
best
Seem
hungerin
g and
thirsting
to hear it
like the
rest."
This
series is
primarily
for
unbelieve
rs, so
they can
hear and
understa
nd the
Gospel
and be
saved
from sin
and the
punishm
ent of sin
which is
hell. This
is
message
number
58.
A.W.
Tozer
said,
"The
teaching
of the
New
Testamen
t is that
now, at
this very
moment,
there is a
Man in
heaven
appearin
g in the
presence
of God
for us. He
is as
certainly
a man as
was
Adam or
Moses or
Paul; he
is a man
glorified,
but his
glorificati
on did
not dehumanize
him.
Today he
is a real
man, of
the race
of
mankind,
bearing
our
lineament
s and
dimensio
ns, a
visible
and
audible
man,
whom
any other
man
would
recognize
instantly
as one of
us and
yet he is
God.
In this
passage,
Jesus
Christ
teaches
that He
will one
day
summon
the world
to
judgment
-- every
person
from
every
generatio
n, no
matter
how
important
or how
insignific
ant, will
stand
before
Jesus
Christ.
For those
who have
trusted
Jesus
Christ as
Savior,
this will
be a
wonderfu
l and
highly
anticipate
d
meeting.
These
people
will be a
part of
the
resurrecti
on of life.
For those
who have
rejected
Jesus
Christ as
Savior,
this will
be an
awful and
dreaded
meeting,
for they
will be a
part of
the
resurrecti
on of
damnatio
n.
Jesus
Christ,
who is in
charge of
all life
and
judgment
, will
send
those
who love
and trust
Him into
Paradise
where
they will
be with
God for
all
eternity.
Those
who
chose to
reject
Him will
be sent
to Hell
where
they will
suffer
apart
from God
for all
eternity.
Now,
some
might
question
Jesus'
judgment
. Some
will say
that
Jesus'
judgment
is not
fair.
Some will
even be
surprised
that
Jesus is
even
involved
in
judging;
they have
grown
comforta
ble with
the idea
of Jesus
as healer,
miracle-
worker,
teacher,
and
savior,
but not
judge.
Speaking
to those
who have
such
question
s, Jesus
says, "I
can of
mine own
self do
nothing...
" Jesus
will not
carry out
His work
as a
judge on
His own.
In fact,
He
cannot
do so. He
says, "As
I hear, I
judge:
and my
judgment
is just."
Some
have said
that this
hearing
that
Jesus
speaks of
relates to
His
experienc
e with
men. He
watches
the lives
of all
men, and
because
He was
once a
man, He
can make
an
accurate
and fair
judgment
of man's
motives.
However,
it is more
likely that
Jesus is
referring
again to
His
relations
hip with
the
Father
and is
speaking
of His
role as
the
Divine
Communi
cant. He
hears
from the
Father
and
obeys the
Father,
thus He
is not
alone in
His
judgment
. God is
judging
us
through
Jesus.
Albert
Barnes
wrote,
"To 'hear'
expresse
s the
condition
of one
who is
commissi
oned or
instructe
d. Thus,
in John
8:26
Jesus
said, 'I
speak to
the world
those
things
which I
have
'heard' of
him". In
John
8:28, He
said, 'As
the
Father
hath
taught
me, I
speak
those
things.'
Jesus
represent
s himself
as
commissi
oned,
taught, or
sent of
God.
When he
says, 'as
I hear,'
He refers
to those
things
which the
Father
had
'showed'
cate the
will of
God; to
show to
man what
God
wished
man to
know."
Because
He is
doing the
will of the
Father by
executing
judgment
, Jesus'
judgment
will be
just, fair,
righteous
, and
true. He
will not
make a
mistake
because
God
cannot
make a
mistake.
No one
who
stands
before
Jesus at
the end
of their
life will
be able to
say that
Jesus is
being
unfair to
them.
Jesus
goes on
to say in
verse 30,
"I can of
mine own
self do
nothing:
as I hear,
I judge:
and my
judgment
is just;
because I
seek not
mine own
will, but
the will of
the
Father
which
hath sent
me."
Jesus'
will is
one with
the
Fathers.
What
God the
Father
commissi
oned Him
to do, He
will do. A
respecte
d
theologia
n has
stated
about
this
verse,
This
verse is
transition
al; it
conclude
s the
section
on Jesus
unity with
the
Father .
The
section
ends the
way it
began,
with the
point that
the Son
can do
nothing
apart
from the
Father.
His
judgment
, as
everythin
g He
does, is
from the
express
will of the
Father.
He is the
perfect
Spokesm
an for the
Father
and His
effective
Executive
. Jesus
will is to
do the
Fathers
will,
which
shows
that He
has the
same
nature.
Judging
the souls
of
mankind
is one of
those
things
that God
has
placed
under the
authority
of the
Son. The
good
news
about
this is
that
Jesus is
a
merciful
and
righteous
judge
who
longs for
all people
to be a
part of
the
resurrecti
on of life.
It is not
His will
that ANY
should
perish,
but that
ALL
should
come to
repentan
ce.
Today,
you can
decide
whether
you will
perish or
repent,
whether
you will
face
eternal
life or
eternal
damnatio
n. If you
want to
make
sure that
you are a
part of
those
who will
be
resurrect
ed unto
life and
not
resurrect
ed unto
damnatio
n. I
encourag
e you to
accept
Jesus
Christ as
your
Savior
today.
Heres
how:
First,
accept
the fact
that you
are a
sinner,
and that
you have
broken
Gods
law. The
Bible
says in
Romans
3:23:
"For all
have
sinned
and come
short of
the glory
of God.
Second,
accept
the fact
that there
is a
penalty
for sin.
The Bible
states in
Romans
6:23:
"For the
wages of
sin is
death
Third,
accept
the fact
that you
are on
the road
to hell.
Jesus
Christ
said in
Matthew
10:28:
"And fear
not them
which kill
the body,
but are
not able
to kill the
soul: but
rather
fear him
which is
able to
destroy
both soul
and body
in hell."
Also, the
Bible
states in
Revelatio
n 21:8:
"But the
fearful,
and
unbelievi
ng, and
the
abomina
ble, and
murderer
s, and
whoremo
ngers
and
sorcerers
, and
idolaters,
and all
liars,
shall
have
their part
in the
lake
which
burneth
with fire
and
brimston
e: which
is the
second
death.
Now this
is bad
news, but
heres
the good
news.
Jesus
Christ
said in
John
3:16:
"For God
so loved
the
world,
that he
gave his
only
begotten
Son, that
whosoev
er
believeth
in him
should
not
perish,
but have
everlastin
g life."
Just
believe in
your
heart that
Jesus
Christ
died for
your
sins, was
buried,
and rose
from the
dead by
the
power of
God for
you so
that you
can live
eternally
with Him.
Pray and
ask Him
to come
into your
heart
today,
and He
will.
Romans
10:9-13
says,
That if
thou
shalt
confess
with thy
mouth
the Lord
Jesus,
and shalt
believe in
thine
heart that
God hath
raised
him from
the dead,
thou
shalt be
saved.
For with
the heart
man
believeth
unto
righteous
ness; and
with the
mouth
confessio
n is made
unto
salvation.
For the
scripture
saith,
Whosoev
er
believeth
on him
shall not
be
ashamed.
For there
is no
differenc
e
between
the Jew
and the
Greek:
for the
same
Lord over
all is rich
unto all
that call
upon
him. For
whosoev
er shall
call upon
the name
of the
Lord
shall be
saved."
Dear
friend, if
you are
willing to
believe
on the
Lord
Jesus
Christ for
salvation,
please
pray with
me this
simple
prayer:
Heavenly
Father, I
realize
that I am
a sinner
and that I
have
done
some bad
things in
my life.
For
Jesus
Christ
sake,
please
forgive
me of my
sins. I
now
believe
with all of
my heart
that
Jesus
Christ
died for
me, was
buried,
and rose
again.
Lord
Jesus,
please
come
into my
heart and
save my
soul and
change
my life
today.
Amen.
If you
believed
in your
heart that
Jesus
Christ
died on
the
cross,
was
buried,
and rose
again,
allow me
to say,
congratul
ations on
doing the
most
important
thing in
life and
that is
accepting
Jesus
Christ as
your Lord
and
Saviour!
