What is the Purpose
of an LTG?
To Develop a Love of God with all our:
1. Heart – (Accountability & Sharing
Burdens)
• share our heart and receive help from
others in guarding our hearts from sin
through accountability
• letting other believers help carry our
burdens.
2. Soul – (Prayer and Meditation)
• encouragement and exhortation to
pray and really listen to what God
says,
• be pushed in making prayer a two
way street.
3. Mind – (Reading and Studying the Word)
• connect through reading
• studying, remembering the Word in
community
4. Strength – (Obedience to God's word)
• being challenged to do what you read

• to apply what God is teaching you,
• to follow through with your good
intentions

Why Join an LTG?
To Be Disciples (followers) of Jesus:
Fulfilling the Great Commission while obeying the
Great Commandment, Cultivating Relationship
with God and people.
To Make Disciples
The Great Commission command’s us to make
DISCIPLESHIP MINISTRY
disciples. This will be cultivated in small by
intentional and specifically praying for the lost in
our spheres of influence – This is a small, but very
important part, though evangelism is not the
primary purpose of our small groups.

Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each
other, in step with each other. None of this going off
and doing your own thing. And cultivate
thankfulness. Let the Word of Christ—the Message
—have the run of the house. Give it plenty of room
in your lives. Instruct and direct one another using
good common sense. And sing, sing your hearts out
to God! Let every detail in your lives—words,
actions, whatever—be done in the name of the
Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step
of the way.
Who can Join an LTG?
Small groups are for every Christian. The pattern
of life we are encouraged in small groups is the † BE LIKE JESUS †

Basic Ideas and Guidelines
Our small groups will be:
• Single gender
greatness of Jesus Christ with both your words
• 2-3 people (may be exceptions multiplication
as growth occurs is encouraged)
• Meet for 1 hour a week (is the goal).
• Meet not in prime-time (not between 5-9 pm
and not on weekend afternoons if possible)
• In the word at least 5 days a week. The same
scripture is to be read by all.
• Reading the word will be exclusively “The
Word” We encourage the following baseline
reading plan:
1. Entire new testament in 1 year.
2. Psalms once in a year
3. Proverbs 6 times / year.
This is equivalent to about 2 chapters / day.
Reading of more scripture or different plans
may be adopted, provided they are the bible
only and satisfies "the word of Christ dwell in
you richly".
