Tyreic ElyJa Hemphill was a senior at Jordan High School when he passed away in 2013 after a tragic car
accident. He ranked in the top 10 percent of his class, and hoped to study engineering at Howard University.
He left his parents Tony and Doreen, and sister Toren to honor his legacy. Tyreic was a tremendously wellliked and well-respected student, son, and friend. He was a phenomenal human being, who touched the lives of
all who knew him. Those who went to school with him, played sports with him, or lived with him, consider
themselves fortunate for having shared those times. He was a scholar at the Emily K Center and a member of
the Movement of Youth program. This scholarship was created at Tyreics parents request, in hopes of giving
back to students who embody Tyreics spirit of excellence.
