1. A The Basic Parts of a newspaper are the following:


a) Nameplate or Masthead the name of the newspaper printed in a special
type on the front-page
b) Headline the phrase printed in a large type across the newspaper article.
Basically, it is intended to catch the readers attention and so it must be worded
in a manner that is appealing to the readers
c) Dateline it tells when and where the articles were written and are usually are
the words at the beginning of the article
d) By-Line name of the writer appearing above the article
e) Jumpline a line telling the reader where the story in continued
f) Photo credit reference to the source of the photograph
g) Cutline description of the picture of the caption
h) News article a story about an event that has just taken place
i) Feature article a detailed report on a person, an issue, or an event
j) Editorial an article in which the people who run a newspaper give their
opinion on an important issue
k) Education the thing that a student favors the most: the education section. In
the education section you might be able to find out the overall average for
students in a particular school, and maybe even a couple of awards that a
student won for the school that they attend, or doing something that would
help their school do better

1. B Types of Articles
1. Editorial an article expressing the stand or opinion of the editors and
publishers on an important issue.
2. News story/Article the story keeps the readers up to date on the important
political, economic, cultural and other events.
3. Feature story a type of news story that develops the writing from the angle
of human interest. It is a detailed report on a person, an issue, or an event.

4. Columns these parts express the columnists views or stand on any issue of
the day.
5. Business news it reports on the different status of different businesses and
industries.
6. Sports news this part gives us news on the result of national and
international sports activities and advanced reports on is schedules. This also
includes sports celebrities.
7. Readers opinion this part publishes the readers opinion, reactions,
comments, and the like. Readers send their messages to the newspaper
publisher.

2. Make reactions on the significant article/s.


The San Bedan College Roadmap of the K to 12 Enhanced Basic Education
Program
The article extends not only to the readers of The Bedan Today but as well as
to ordinary people. The article was written in a manner that explains the rationale and
objective of the K to 12 Program. The article had a smooth transition in explaining
and discussing matters regarding the use of the said program and it mapped out its
Core Curriculum Subject in its Senior High School.
Senator Grace Poe is CAS Commencement Speaker
The article was written in a manner which is clear enough to be understood by
any reader and the terminologies used appeared not to be highfaluting. It provided
information to the readers of The Bedan Today some of the new laws that was
enacted.
3. Recommendations on lapses.
Uplifting the Bedan Character and transforming behaviors through Campus
Posters

The article has a not-so-good lay-out. The article is divided into two parts
where the second part is placed at the bottom part of the succeeding page. It was not
shown that there is a continuation in the succeeding page.
CAS Class of 2015
The articles readers cater to only specific type of readers. It may not be
appealing to the other readers since it may not concern them, or it may not be that
interesting. Also, the issue on the is that the caption it used only pertains to a specific
college and / or department and not as a whole class of 2015
4. Commendations on the articles.
Commendations on good articles is integrated or included on the reactions
over significant articles.
