PURPOSE
The purpose of the procedure is to provide the minimum requirements for the changing of damaged
Roof sheets for the shed to meet the specific contractual specifications and requirements of the project
for ''GASOS, Weatherford .
2.0)
SCOPE
This procedure applies specifically to project for GASOS, Weatherford and covers the following
elements of structural steel works.

PROCEDURE
4.1) General
4.1.1) All sheet changing works shall be in accordance with the required project codes and standards.
4.2)
Materials
4.2.1) All material and components shall be inspected on receipt in accordance with Material
Acquisition and Management Plan.
4.3)
4.3.1) All material / component shall be stored well clear off the ground on skids or timber in such a
way to allow draining of rain water (includes storage) Supports shall be spaced so that no
damage results from deflection. Stacking of components more than three layer / racks high shall
not be permitted steel work components shall be handed and stored in a manner to minimize to
minimize the risk of abrasion and damage.
4.3.2) All material damaged during off-loading, transportation or storage shall be restored to conform
to the stands of manufacturer as per project specifications. The methodology to restore the
damaged caused shall depend on the extent and severity of damaged and the same shall be
agreed upon by company prior restoration. The restored component shall be inspected and
approved by company against site prior to Work.

- New sheets shall be lifted using the boom loader and will be safely fixed on to the purling.
- All Employees are well trained and experienced personnels,they would be on the roof wearing
Safety Harnesses attached to YOYO of 10m length, and the same YOYO will be attached to a
steel wire rope that will be connected on both ends using steel rods. These steel rods will be
fixed on to the purlins for their easy and safe access.
- The proposed sheet fixing is carried out with a boom loader for lifting the sheets, as per the
safe working load allowed, if exceeds optional crane of maximum load capacity of 20 Tonne
will be used.
- The belt/Sling used of lifting shall be checked and verified by third party before commencing
the erection and the certificate should be available for checking on request at site.
- The lifting area and work area should be free of other activities to avoid any mishap.
- The load after lifting of sheets should not be allowed to swing above the head of any personal
working below.
- All the procedure should be coordinated by an experienced site engineer and safety officer
during the time of work.

- Permanent fixing of screws and bolting shall not be carried out, until correct positioning and
alignment of sheets has been achieved.
4.6)
Equipment calibration
Equipment used for inspection, testing and measurement shall be included in the applicable
departmental calibration and maintenance program.
4.7)
Personnel
All personnels employed in changing of sheet steel works shall have suitable qualification and
experience.

Project HSE Plan and company Fire & Safety regulations shall be adhered
to at all times.
