A group of men, women and dogs completed a walk along the Dee Estuary to
raise funds for Christian Aid. The walkers set off from Parkgate and Neston
United Reformed Church with the aim of beating last year’s total of £2,400. It
was the first walk since the death of Ken Hulme, who first organised the annual
walks over 40 years ago.

l Neston Town Council is supporting the summer term activities of Little Actors
Theatre’s - Theatre Club. The Saturday morning classes offer drama and singing/dance
to children aged from 5-11. This term the children are rehearsing scenes and numbers
from ‘Bugsy Malone’ to perform at the Neston Village Fair. Little Actors is able to

Le Tour de Neston
‘The Great Tour’, a marathon cycle event around Britain’s coastline during July to September
will be coming through Neston, one of the 64 stages of a 4,000 mile route. The Tour starts on
3rd July in Devon and make its way anti-clockwise around the coastline and back to Devon.
The riders will average a 60 miles each day taking in every seaside port, village, town, cove
and bay along every kilometre of coastline accessible by bicycle. The tour will cycle from
Preston to Neston on Sunday 15th August and will set off from Neston heading to Conwy on
Monday 16th August.
There is a fantastic opportunity for you or anyone you know to take part for free; be it to cycle
the entire route, take part as a team or take part the day it comes through our area. The group
of riders will be fully supported by a team of experts and led by former Olympic decathlon gold
medallist Daley Thompson and ultra long distance cyclist Jim Rees.
