AIM AND OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT


Our project is Black Dahlia-an unfinished story. It is based on the development of a game
using the Unity Game Engine or Game Development Tool. We will be providing the
setup of this game on the website of our own along with the android application which
would be synced to the website itself.
This working project can be used by any user who wants to play a mystery based game
whose setup can be easily downloaded from our website. This game provides an easy to
use GUI for the beginners as well as experts in gaming areas.
The main objective of this project is the development of a platform based adventurous
mystery game which will only run on PCs and could be downloaded both through the
website as well as the android application. Any user who wants to download the game
from the application will have to register themselves, only then they will be able to
download the setup of our game.
This website will be password protected, so that only authenticated users who login into
their accounts in our website can only download the setup of our game. The android
application synced with this website will also allow only those authenticated users to use
the app.

BACKGROUND STUDY
Game Development Using Unity
Many tools called game engines are available for game designers to code a game quickly
and easily without building from the ground up. Unity is one of them.
It is a powerful cross-platform engine and a user friendly development environment. Easy
enough for the beginner and powerful enough for the expert; Unity should interest
anybody who wants to easily create games and applications for mobile, desktop, the web,
and consoles.
The game engine's scripting is built on Mono, the open-source implementation of the
.NET Framework. Programmers can use Unity Script (a custom language with
ECMAScript-inspired syntax, referred to as JavaScript by the software), C#, or Boo
(which has a Python-inspired syntax).
Unity is notable for its ability to target games to multiple platforms. Within a project,
developers have control over delivery to mobile devices, web browsers, desktops, and
consoles.

Unitys animation system is based on the concept of Animation Clips, which contain
information about how certain objects should change their position, rotation, or other
properties over time. Each clip can be thought of as a single linear recording. Animation

clips from external sources are created by artists or animators with 3rd party tools such as
Max or Maya, or come from motion capture studios or other sources.
Unity has a rich and sophisticated animation system called Mecanim. Mecanim provides:

Easy workflow and setup of animations for all elements of Unity including
objects, characters, and properties.

Support for imported animation clips and animation created within Unity

Humanoid animation retargeting - the ability to apply animations from one


character model onto another.

Simplified workflow for aligning animation clips.

Management of complex interactions between animations with a visual


programming tool.

Animating different body parts with different logic.

Website
A website is a set of related web pages typically served from a single web domain. A
website is hosted on at least one web server, accessible via a network such as
the Internet or a private local area network through an Internet address known as
a uniform resource locator. All publicly accessible websites collectively constitute
the World Wide Web.

Android Application
An Android app is a software application running on the Android platform. Because the
Android platform is built for mobile devices, a typical Android app is designed for a
smartphone or a tablet PC running on the Android OS. Android apps are written in the
Java programming language. Android apps are written in the Java programming
language. The Android SDK tools compiles your code along with any data and resource
files into an APK: an Android package, which is an archive file with an .apk suffix. One
APK file contains all the contents of an Android app and is the file that Android-powered
devices use to install the app.

METHODOLOGY
The main focus of our project is the development of a platform based desktop game using
Unity Game development tool. In this tool we will use different types of graphics for
designing the GUI for the game which will be user friendly, easy for the beginners and
powerful enough for the experts.
We will also use the animations in unity in order to show all kinds of motion of objects in
the game. The game will be based on an adventurous, mysterious and suspense story
which will definitely make people curious for playing the game. The setup of the game
developed will be provided on the website which we will make. But, the users will have
to initially register themselves by creating their accounts on our website. Only then the
authenticated users will be allowed to download the setup of our game and enjoy playing
it on their PCs.
We will also create an android application synced with our website and in order to
download the setup of the game, users have to be registered on our website .

TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES TO BE USED

Software Requirements:
Development Tool : Unity Game Engine(Game Development Tool), Eclipse(Android
Application Development Kit).
Languages Used: C#,JavaScript (Game Development)
Operating system : Microsoft Windows 7 and above.
Front End

PROPOSED WORK
We have used Unity as a development tool for making a game for all the users who love
playing and exploring mystery games. The idea behind making this website is to provide
the users a place to explore about the concept of our game and also easily download the
setup for the same.
This website would also contain different links related to the same concept as that of our
game. We will use different kinds of languages, stylings, scripts to design the webpages
of our website.
The web pages which will be designed would also contain different kinds of animated
graphics to make our website look more attractive. Our game would be basically based
on a story which will also attract users to solve its mysterious adventures and earn credits
for the same which will help them skip some levels and reach to the mystery of the game
faster.
The android application synced with the website will also contain the setup of this game
so that the authenticated users can easily download the game through the app. This
android app will also provide a login page for the users to easily register and explore the
concept of the game same as the website.
