How To Install Ubuntu Linux

What is Ubuntu ?. Ubuntu is an open-source operating system (OS) based on the


Debian GNU/Linux distribution. Ubuntu incorporates all the features of a Unix OS with
an added customizable GUI, which makes it popular in universities and research
organizations. Ubuntu is primarily designed to be used on personal computers, although
a server editions does also exist. Ubuntu is an African word that literally means
"humanity to others." Open source operating system is operating system whose source
code is made available for use or modification as users or other developers see fit and
open source and made freely available, it is one of the advantages of ubuntu but in other
side ubuntu hard to be operated and that problem can be solved if you more learn about
ubuntu.
The materials that you need to install ubuntu on a computer are CD/DVD,ubuntu
iso file and of course computer.
These are the steps to install ubuntu on your computer.First you must have ubuntu
iso file and you can get the ISO file from the Ubuntu website (www.ubuntu.com).

An ISO file is a CD image file that will need to be burned before you can use it. If you
have a Windows 8 PC or a PC with UEFI firmware, download the 64-bit version of
Ubuntu. Most older machines should download the 32-bit version.Secondly burn the ISO
file. Open up your burning program of choice. There are free and paid programs

available that can burn an ISO to a CD or DVD like nero and etc.

And then boot from the disc. Once you have finished burning the disc, restart your
computer and choose to boot from the disc. You may have to change your boot
preferences by hitting the Setup key while your computer is restarting. This is typically
F12, F2, or Del.After that there are two options try ubuntu and install ubuntu but for this
time because we want to install ubuntu permanently then use the select Install Ubuntu.

And then just click continue.

Choose what to do with your existing operating system. If you want erase all your data
click erase disk and install Ubuntu but if you want custom your partition click something
else and continue but for this we use custom partition so we choose something else.

Set your partition size.Click New Partition Table

If there are warnings, click Continue to continue the process.

If the partition table has been created the next step is to create a partition types are to
be used by Ubuntu, Ubuntu Linux only need 2 Type partition that is used is the root:
"/" and swaparea.To make type of partition the first step click menu + on the left
menu below.

To create the first partition Type, specify the size of which is used as a system, for
example 7GB of total capacity 8GB hard drive, use the Primary, and put in the
Beginning of this space, the Ext4 Use as select Journaling file system, the mount
point select the root "/" , then click OK.

The second step, which made the swap area type of disk space used, swap the RAM
serves as a backup when the main RAM overload, then to prevent the overload of this
areaswap it is used. To make it please click on Free Space, then click the + button
again.

To measure just use it all, and the most important is choosing the swap area in use as,
then click OK.

proceed click Install Now.

Select the country's position by clicking on a map that has been provided, then click
Continue to proceed.

Select the type of keyboard that is made, usually on the menu we often skip because
linux ubuntu will automatically detect the type of keyboard you use, click Continue to
proceed.

On this menu, fill in all the information about you, from the user name, computer
name, username, password, when done click Continue to proceed

Wait, the installation process is running ..

if the installation process is complete, it will display a warning that the installation
process has been completed, click Restart Now to see the results of the installation is
done earlier. and do not forget to remove the installer media when the computer is
Restart.

On the Log menu, enter the password that you fill in the previous step

Finally you can use ubuntu on your computer
