Astrology is a divine science

Astrology when used as a tool for inner growth offers tremendous insights.

Some get freaked out at the very mention of astrology, one person I knew personally used astrology to
abuse close relations. All that person needed was the Moon's placement (people from India are aware of
this by birth and practically everyone knows since it is used for lots of various things such as arranged
marriages), this person would then use this information to divide people in to 2 easy buckets of good
and bad. Any grave mistakes of the ones in the good bucket were forgiven whereas the ones in the bad
bucket had to literally do nothing to be abused and vitrioled..LOL.

I also know another person who uses a friend, an astrologer for mundane things and is happy when this
astrologer predicts he would carry a “zandu balm” (pain balm for headache) in his pocket a particular
day..LOL.

But my purpose is different. Astrology is not like math, 2 + 2 = 4, it needs a man of intelligence
combined with intuitive skills since its not an exact science – life is such – quantum physics also says
that matter is energy and energy can itself change to matter. I would like to use my strong analytical,
logical skills combined with intuition, not to predict mundane things like when will you have a
headache today, but to identify your strengths and weaknesses for your inner spiritual growth.

Here's a sample analysis of my response to a friend as to why I shouldn't be a professional writer.

But writing can't be my profession. Rahu(north node of the Moon) shows entrapment and cause of
rebirth, its in the 3rd house of communication including writing. 3rd lord Saturn is in the 5th house of
love and creativity, 3rd house is well supported by the natural significator of 3rd house - Mercury which
is in the 1st house (11th from 3rd) which shows income (11th house stands for all gains and income) to
the 3rd house.

(In India there's a tradition where the parents lay out several things and let their little ones – we are
talking about less than year – pick up what they like. They believe this informs them what the kid's
interests/talents are and my mom says I picked up a pen !!!, my brother picked up a one rupee
note..LOL, not sure what choices we had, it would be fun to know..:-D)

But Saturn is debilitated and my creative skills weren't well developed, but Saturn is exalted in
Navamsa(9th harmonic), so because of the grace of existence(guru) now my creative skills are well
developed. Since writing needs both creativity and intellect this is important. My intellect is already
developed as Mercury, strong and free of afflictions, is in the 1st house showing adaptability,
independent, logical, and a rational personality. Mercury is the sign of Sagittarius, natural 9th of the
zodiac, standing of higher knowledge.

By offering my writing as a service (seva) to the society I calm my Rahu (the obsessive compulsive
nature of my mind), purify it and attain Moksha.

The 10th lord of profession - Mercury - in the 1st shows my intellectual work with logic, analysis,
reasoning and my work with Computers, not fixing them of course, you would at least need deft hands for
that and I sure don't, but as a Software Engineer, it also shows my independent nature (1st stands for all
things self). Since Mercury is very strong, with no afflictions - it shows a very logical, intelligent and
analytical person.
