SCRIPT GRADUATION 2013

MC: Esteemed parents, beloved alumni, hardworking teachers,

faithful friends and fellow Paduans. Good afternoon. It is my
pleasure to join you and your loved ones in your elation as we
welcome the candidates for graduation of Class 2013 of San
Antonio de Padua College led by their respective parents, their
teachers and the officers of the administration of San Antonio
de Padua College
ACADEMIC PROCESSION
***********************************************************
MC: Please stand for the entrance of colors and the singing of
the Philippine National Anthem to be led by the SAPC Drum
and Lyre Corps
ENTRANCE OF COLORS/PHIL. NATIONAL ANTHEM
MC: You may now be seated. Again, welcome to the 34 TH
Commencement Exercises of San Antonio de Padua College.
After four long years of hardship, of burning the midnight oil,
examinations, themes, experiments, term papers and reports,
comes the day you have been longing for--Graduation Day. It
marks the end of high school and you go to it with mixed
feelings---relief, sadness, happiness, anticipation, hope....
For it's not really not the end but the beginning of a new world
for graduates. As our hero Dr. Jose Rizal had said, "Go forth
and then the sacred fire of thy genius to the laurel may aspire
to spread around the fame and in victory acclaim through
wider spheres the human name." Dr. Rizal believed that
knowledge brought power and that progress was possible only

through enlightenment. He himself set the example by

pursuing his studies with diligence, making use of every
opportunity to absorb all the knowledge he deemed useful to
him and his fellowmen. Today marks the start of your future.
For many parents, watching their child, now a young man or
woman, go up the stage in their togas to receive a piece of
paper is the reward for long years of toil and sacrifice. And to
give us the welcome address, may I request the presence of
Josie A. Tubig, this years Class Salutatorian.
WELCOME ADDRESS
MC: Thank you Josie. We are all here today to mark, to affirm
and to celebrate your past and present achievements. Your
diploma is an embodiment of these achievements. We are also
here today to promote your readiness and preparedness to
proceed into the world outside of San Antonio de Padua
College. As you pass out of your high school you will become
different men and women, the equal of elders in taking the
responsibilities of life. With youth and freshness you can
fashion your future according to your heart's desire. The
degree of your success will depend much on yourselves--your
vision, courage and faith, and will to do and dare. Youth has a
challenge. You have the task to shape new men and women out
of yourselves. Graduation day has greater significance than
the triumph over difficulties---it gives a new born awareness of
the magnitude of the work before you. You have learned many
lessons from the trials of the past. Let these guide you now in
the intellectual pilgrimage that lies ahead. At this juncture, I
would like to call Prof. Ma. Mimie M. Castillo, the Principal of

the

High

School

Department

for

the

Presentation

of

Candidates for Graduation to be followed by the confirmation

of graduates to be done by our Chairman and

College

President, Dr. Armando B. Figueroa.

PRESENTATION OF CANDIDATES/CONFIRMATION OF
GRADUATES
MC: Congratulations once again for your well deserved honor.
You are about to embark on a journey of opportunity.
Strengthen yourselves with virtues that will enable you to
achieve your goals. Try to cultivate patience, industry, devotion
to duty, honesty, faith and hope and most especially the core
virtues of our school, charity, humility and patience ---with
such weapons you cannot fail. As you march forward into a
new and uncertain world, carry with you the teachings and
knowledge you have acquired from your Alma Mater. In the
furtherance of your education and the pursuit of your chosen
careers, always have self-determination for the path is not rosy
but thorny, and only those who are brave, determined, and
godly survive and succeed. At this point in time, may I request
the presence of our Grade School Principal, Ms. Amorfina B.
Suyosa who will introduce to us our Commencement Speaker
in this special occasion.

THE

GUEST

SPEAKER/

COMMENCEMENT ADDRESS
MC: Thank you Mr. Ochoa for that very inspiring message.

simple as it seems in this world. Consider such lumps and

bumps along the way as part of your continuing education.

May I call our Chairman and President Dr. Armando B.
Figueroa to present our plaque of appreciation to our
esteemed guest of honor, Mr. Ulysses R. Ochoa.
PRESENTATION OF THE PLAQUE OF APPRECIATION

an important milestone in a person's life, and we congratulate

MC: Congratulations graduates. At this point in time, I would
like to call Mrs. Gina F. Lozanta, the representative of the
Alumni Association for the Oath of Acceptance to the Alumni
Association.
OATH OF ACCEPTANCE
MC: Thank you Maam Lozanta. According to Ralph Marston,
Excellence is not a skill. It is an attitude. No man ever reached to
excellence in any one art or profession without having passed
through the slow and painful process of study and preparation said
Horace. If you are going to achieve excellence in big things, you
develop the habit in little matters. Collin Powell mentioned that
Excellence is not an exception; it is a prevailing attitude.
Excellence should be exhibited in everything that we do. Excellence
is an attitude, an unconscious desire to accomplish things
excellently that would make us not meet the expectations but
surpass it. Excellence indeed was exhibited by this years Class
Valedictorian, Tricia Nicole G. Embelino. And to deliver her
Valedictory Speech, I would like to call her to the stage.
VALEDICTORY SPEECH

MC: At this juncture, I am requesting the presence of one of this

years special mention, Melissa V. Basmayor for the Graduates
Prayer.
GRADUATES PRAYER
MC: May I request the graduates to please come on stage as we
sing our school hymn to be led by _____________________.
SCHOOL HYMN/CLASS PICTURE
MC: May we request everybody to please remain in their respective
places until the colors, officers of the administration, faculty, the
guest speaker and the graduates has already left the stage.
