The path

Almost every person knows the statement you reap what you sow. They may not know that it comes
from the Bible but they know the statement. Robert Louis Stephenson said it this way, sooner or later
you will sit down to a banquet of consequences.
The Bible makes three clear statements in Galatians 6. Dont be deceived. God is not mocked. You
will reap what you sow. But there are some implications that come along with the statements. Let me
remind you of a few.
First, life is not a lottery. It is not just the luck of the draw. It is not happenstance. There is a direct
correlation to the seed sown and the harvest gathered. While it is true that we are all dealt a certain
hand in life and we must deal with what has been given the other side of the coin is that we must
invest in life and in the opportunities that God gives to us. You cannot plant apples and pray for
oranges. We will reap what we sow.
Second, it is a reminder that the harvest is seldom instant. You do not plant seeds one day and go
back the next day and reap the harvest. Time is involved in the process. Sometimes people make a
mistake in thinking that because the harvest is not instant that it will not come at all. That is not true.
It is also important to remember that deeds grow. You could carry thousands of seeds in a bag over
your shoulder but the harvest that those seeds will give would fill many trucks. For some reason we
always hear this statement as a negative. But remember, it is a statement toward the positive, too.

Dont be deceived, God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows he will also reap, because the one who
sows to the flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows from the Spirit will reap
eternal life from the Spirit. So we must not get tired from doing good, for we will reap at the proper
time if we dont give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, we must work for the good of all,
especially for those who belong to the household of faith. (Galatians 6:7-10)

Church St. Family,

Thank you all for the continued support through these
past couple of months. I believe great things are happening for the
church and the people here in Colonet, Mexico. Thank you to those
who have contributed to many of the projects and activities that
we have done thus far. Here are a couple of things that are going
on as of now:
We were able to buy about 10 pairs of shoes for the kids of the
church. Shoes are always an easy way to help some of the families
here. They can be expensive and kids can grow out of them or
wear them out quickly. This was an awesome experience for the
kids.
We also bought 5 mattresses for families in need. Many families in
the community need them. Most are second-hand or worn out.
Many families do not have actual beds, so mattresses are placed
on the floor. Building beds is a simple task that we are doing to
provide some families with a decent place to sleep.
Some brothers and I have also been working and planting in the
garden to help contribute tomatoes, squash, onions and carrots to
families. These are just a few things going on that are having a
positive impact on the church and church members here.
Thank you all again for all of your help and support. People here
do appreciate it more than you can imagine.
Thank you, Mark Lane
