This is a take home assignment.
Soft copies (WORD FORMAT) to be emailed to assignments@hrmi.lk
All assignments should be spiral bound with Black hard cover as the last
sheet.
A hard copy of the first page of this document and feedback sheets to be
attached to the assignment with your details.
Clearly label the CDs with your student registration number and attach it
to the back cover of your assignment.
Late submissions will be endorsed with a late submission seal and will be
consideration in marking your assignment
Late submission fee: Rs. 2,000
If you are unable to handover your assignment on time, and have a valid
reasons such as critical illness, you are required to apply in writing for an
extension in advance.
Late submission duration is 14 days.
In the event of a Resubmission you have to submit your assignment within
14 days.
Multiple submissions for higher grading is not allowed.
Non submission of work without valid reasons will lead to an automatic
REFERRAL.

Scenario
You have been recently appointed as an Executive - Human Resources in Sunshine
Apparel (Pvt) Ltd. Your Job Description includes mainly; recruitment, selection,
retention, performance management and employee development functions in the
orgnaisation.
You are required to produce a comprehensive report to the Monthly HR meeting. In
your report you are required to suggest strategies to enhance the effectiveness of
assigned functions. You may also required to study the organizational leadership
style and benefits of team working. The following guidelines are given by the
Manager - Human Resources to enhance the quality of your report.
Task
Prepare a recruitment and selection plan and a procedure (LO1).
Indicate ethical and legislative consideration to be complying with relation to

interviewers in selection process (LO1).


Evaluate your own contribution to the selection process (LO1).
Differentiate the term Leadership and Management and explain the needed

leadership qualities to function the organization smoothly (LO2).


Indicate the different leadership styles suited for diverse situations within the
organizational context and explain how you can motivate your employees to

achieve their targets (LO2).


Explain how organization could utilize team working practices in order to
achieve organizational goals effectively. Your explanation should indicate role

of the leader and a member of a team within the organization (LO3).


Prepare a comprehensive plan to assess the employee work performance and
the development needs of individuals by giving special attention on
performance measurements to be considered (Planning, monitoring and
assessment) (LO4).
