Reasons

The need to adapt to the new instructor and the way of how the instructor teach in the
class
Lack of turnover from the previous instructor that gives conflicts to the lesson plan
Time for learning are wasted and forced to compress and rush the lesson needed to be
given to the cadets
Effectiveness of Outcome Based Education Compared to the Old Curriculum

Difference between the performance of the First Class men that experienced the Old
curriculum compared to the Second Class men that is under the OBE
Comparison of knowledge or learning between those who are having the OBE and the
Old Curriculum
Advantages and Disadvantages between the OBE and Old Curriculum

Factors Affecting the Performance and Attitude of the Cadets Inside the Academy

To know what should be lessen in the things that have negative effects to the cadets

CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
This chapter includes the background of the study, statement of the problem, significance
of the study and the scopes and limitations.

Background of the Study

Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific offers variety of instructors with different set
of skills and levels. Instructors consist of professionals from the maritime industry, general
education and the like.
In the academys school routine instructors affects students in a way that they tend to be
absent or late in their respective classes due to their different affiliations. Due to that functions
heads are obliged to change the instructor for that particular course.
This study focuses on the effects of sudden change of instructors and its effects to the
academic performance of the cadets. The effects might include the adaptability of cadets to
different teaching patterns and how fast a student can cope up from the lapse of the instructors.

Statement of the Problem

The study aims to answer the following questions:
1. What are the common subjects that are prone to changes of instructors?
2. What are the reasons of change of instructors given to the cadets?
3. How does this change of instructors affects cadets in terms of ;
a. Attitude

b. Performance
c. Learning
Outcomes

Research Design
In Descriptive Research, a study is designed to depict the participants in an accurate way.
More simply put, descriptive research is all about describing people who take part in the study.
The researcher will use the research design, survey type, to gather data and results.

Statistical Tools
In this study, the researcher will be using descriptive statistics. This statistics is the
discipline of quantitatively describing the main features of a collection of information, or the
quantitative description itself.

Gathering of Data
As said in the research design, the researchers will gather data through the use of survey
forms and will tabulate all the data that will be gathered.

Respondents

The study will aim to take 30 cadets from each class that comes from different sections
who will be respondents and will fill out the survey forms. Simple Random Sampling will take
place in choosing the respondents.

Time
The study seeks to gather data and tabulate the results within a month or 2. In the first
week will be making of survey forms and distribution to the respondents. The second will be
gathering of data and will be followed by tabulating the results. In the last week, finalization of
data and conclusion to the study.
