Chapter 1 OMT Software Instruction

11 Summary
The software has Parameter Setting, Parameter Queries, Alarm Collection, etc. functions. i. e.
Parameter Setting include repeater serial number setting, monitoring center phone number setting, shift
frequency setting, alarm threshold settings, etc. Parameter Query not only check the setted configuration
information but also can collect real-time repeater working data. Summary, Parameter Query contributes to
the repeater site monitoring and fault diagnosis.
This software owns visual user interface, friendly interface, easy operation, stable and reliable
etc. features.

12 Operation Enviroment
121 Hardware Requirement
(1). PC 1 pcs ( the least requirement as follows );
CPU: Pentium III ( at least 800MHz ) or better processor
Memory: 512MB or larger

The left storage of hard disk: at least 1GB

(2). RS-232 connecting cable 1 pcs


(3). GSM Modem ( 1 pcs )
(4). SIM card 2 pcs ( one to put in repeater, the other one to put in modem for receiving and sending
message )

122 System Requirement


(1). Operation system: Windows XP or higher version
(2). Display resolution rate should be 1024768 or higher ( recommended standard: 1024768 )
(3). Amplitec-OMT software
(4). Office 2003 or higher version

212 Operation Preparation


1. Set up repeater equipment and switch on the power.
2. Please connect the PC and repeater equipment by RS-232, and make sure the RS-232 cable IDECD
has been finished installation. ( for details please take RS-232 CD as reference )

213 OMT Software Installation And Login


1. The new version OMT software do not need to run the installation steps, just copy the whole folder from
the software disk to your computer.

2. Double click the icon OMT.exe to login the software.

Note: When you login OMT Equipment Management Interface, and the repeater equipment you want to
mornitor was existed ( for example Figure 5: MasterEquipment0 and SlaveEquipment1 ), then it is no need
to go through bellow 2.2 procedure and get into 2.3 process directly.

221 Create New City


1. After login, users can see software main interface ( Equipment Management Section ) on the left side,
right click mouse, there will show a list menu. ( Figure 6 )
2. Left click New City to create a monitoring city name.

222 Create New Area


1. Right click the mouse which point to New City, there will show a list menu. ( Figure 7 )
2. Left click New Area to create a monitoring area name.

23 Monitoring Operation Methods


231 Local Connection Operation
Before to start bellow local mornitoring connection, it is appreciated that the users make sure two points:
1Make sure that the repeaters have been set up and it is power on and it can work normally.
2Make sure that the PC and repeater equipment is connected by RS-232.
Please follow bellow operation procedures:
1. Left click the first column Communication Link on top left corner as Figure 10:

2. On Communication type please select Local serial port, then on Current Port please select the
corresponding COM port which is connected to the repeater equipment by RS-232. ( Figure 11 )
3. Click Connect, if the selection of the correct COM port, the red light will turn to green color. ( Figure 11 )

232 Search Site And Search Equipment


Note: When it is first time to proceed the real-time mornitoring communication connection for the new
created equipment, it is appreciated that to proceed Search Site and Search Equipment frist, just in
order to make sure that OMT and equipment can be identified and match each other in intellectualization.
1. Select the corresponding repeater equipment on the left side ( Equipment Management Section ) as
Figure 12:

2. In Equipment Monitoring Information Section please select Basic Parameter Information, left click the
button Search Site on the right lower side. ( Figure 13 )

3. Get the detail information of site number and equipment number which repeater currently connected.

4. Please select the corresponding repeater equipment on the left side ( Equipment Management Section )
and right click it, the equipment management function manu will appear. ( Figure 15 )

5. Left click Edit Equipment, you will see the equipment basic information input box as shown in figure 16
on the left side.

6. Change the site number and equipment number in the dialogue box brought out and ensure that the two
groups of the number are completely match with the numbers as third step youve got. And then click ok.
( As shown in figure 16 on the right side. )
7. Select the corresponding repeater equipment on the left side ( Equipment Management Section ) as
Figure 17:

8. In Equipment Monitoring Information Section please select Basic Parameter Information, left click the
button Search Site on the right lower side. ( Figure 18 )

9. Get the detail information which equipment connected, including city , region and the name of
equipment ,the number of site, and the number of equipment etc. ( As shown in figure 19 on the left side. )
And find the corresponding equipment in the main interface of the software shown on the left side.

10. Select the corresponding repeater equipment on the left side ( Equipment Management Section ) as

11. In Equipment Monitoring Information Section please select Basic Parameter Information, left click the
button Search Equipment on the right lower side. ( Figure 21 )

12. Please wait for seconds and pay attention on feedback section on the right downward inferior, the
Transmit and Receive information of the repeater equipment will appear.
13. When it appears Update the equipment parameters is successful!, means OMT search equipment
procedure and identified in intellectualization successfully, then please go on next step. ( Figure 22 )

2334 Resume Factory Default Setting


When the users need to resume factory default setting, please go on bellow procedures ( Note: When the
repeaters are resumed factory default setting, all the parameters which were set before will be resumed to
initial status. If the users do not need to resume factory default setting, please forget this step. )
1. Please select the corresponding repeater equipment on the left side. ( Equipment Management Section )

3. Click Default Equipment button and pay attention on the feedback section on the right downward

4. When it appears Default the repeater is successful!, resume factory default setting sucessfully, please

234 Remote Connection Operation

1. Power on the repeater and marke sure PC and repeaters are connected by RS-232.
2. Left click the first column Communication Link on top left corner as Figure 50:

2342 Set RepeaterEquipment Telephone


1. Please select the corresponding repeater equipment on the left side ( Equipment Management Section )
and right click it, the equipment management function manu will appear. ( Figure 56 )

3. Input the SIM card number which was inserted into the repeaters, click OK button.

2343 Establish Modem Remote Monitoring Communication


1. Pull out the RS-232 cable which was connected to the repeater, replace it by a modem. In the same time
please make sure that the modem antenna and power cord is in correct connections, and make sure the
repeater after power on it can work normally. ( Also it is appreciated to make sure the modem antenna has
been installed in the repeater and fasten closely. )
2. Left click the first column Communication Link on top left corner as Figure 58:

3. Select GSM Short message on Communication type, then please select the corresponding COM port
which is connected to modem by RS-232 on Current Port. ( Figure 59 )
4. Click Connect button, if the selection of the correct COM port is successful, the red light will turn to
green color. ( Figure 59 )

5. After the establishment of remote monitoring communication sucessful, users can start to proceed the
remote monitoring. ( Detailed monitoring operation procedures please take 2.3.3 above as reference. )

Section One: Equipment Management Section. It is devided different layers from up to down ( Figure 61 )

Section Two: Basic Information Section. This section is the basic information of master equipment and
slave equipment. Shown on ( Figure 62 ), each equipment includes below basic information:

Equipment number
Equipment SIM number
Equipment installation location

To show the repeaters RF parameters and working status, i.e. PA switch on and off, attenuantion value,
channel state, etc. Meanwhile it can show the update time. ( Figure 65 )

Alert page is the feedback from the repeater, to let user knows any faults timely. And to show or to write all

When there is an alarm occurs ( includes arlarm happens and eliminates ), it will show all of the alarm

Section Four: Real-time Information Feedback Section. This section shows the repeaters real time
communication data and OMT operation state. Users could pay attention to this section to know the
feedback from the repeater. ( Figure 68 )

321 Create New City
1. Right click on the left side ( Equipment Management Section ), the equipment management functional
manu will appear. ( Figure 69 )
2. Select New City and click it to create a new city. ( Figure 69 )

324 Create New Slave Equipment


1. Right click MasterEquipment0 , there will show a list manu. ( Figure 73 )

2. Select New Slave Equipment and the equipment information box will appear. ( Figure 74 )
3. Fill in the slave equipment basic information which you are going to create. Then click OK, the creation
is successful. ( Figure 74 )

325 Rename City, Area, Equipment


Users can rename city , area and equipment at any time, please follow bellow procedures to go on:
1. Left click the item you want to modify.
2. Left click one more time again, the edited box will appear ( for example New City 0 ).
3. Fill in the new name you want, Enter on the keyboard then finished.

326 Edit Equipment Basic Information


Sometimes there is necessary to edit repeater basic information, i.e. change SIM card of the repeater, in
this situation, the original equipment information have to be changed.
Please go on following steps:
1. Please select the corresponding repeater equipment on the left side ( Equipment Management Section ),
right click it ( Figure 76 SlaveEquipment1 as bellow ), the equipment managemet manu will appear.

2. Left click Edit Equipment, the equipment basic information box will appear. ( Figure 77 )

3. Fill in the new information of the repeater then click OK.

327 Delete Equipment
