Influencing people by providing purpose, direction, and motivation, while operating to
accomplish the mission and improve the organization (AR 600-100 1-4a).

2. Define Mission Command and discuss what it means to you.


It is the exercise of authority and direction by the commander using mission orders to
enable disciplined initiative within the commander's intent to empower agile and adaptive
leaders in the conduct of Unified Land Operations. What it means to me is that I am given
the freedom to lead how I want within limits of the commander.

3. What are the 3 levels of leadership?


Direct, Organizational, Strategic

4. What is the most important step in MDMP? Who leads MDMP?


Mission Analysis. The commander.

5. What are the 3 types of operations conducted outside the US?


Stability, Defense, Offensive

6. What are the 3 types of operations conducted inside the US? Why are they
different?
Civil Support, Defense, Offensive. They are different because the Army supports government
operations that are ongoing. Where outside the US the Army helps to create and then stabilize
government operations.

7. What are the 6 tenets of Unified Land Operations?


Flexibility, Integration, lethality, adaptability, depth, synchronization

8. Discuss the key points of supply operations.


ATP 4-42 General supply operations include the requisition, receipt, storage, protection,
maintenance, issue, distribution, redistribution, and retrograde of supplies.
Classes of supply are:
Class I - Food, rations, and water
Class II - Clothing
Class III - Petroleum, oils, and lubricants
Class IV - Fortification and barrier materials
Class V - Ammunition
Class VI - Personal Items
Class VII - Major End Items
Class VIII - Medical supplies, minimal amounts
Class IX - Repair Parts
Class X - Miscellaneous supplies

9. Discuss the key points of maintenance operations.


ATP 4-33 In a modular Army, maintenance elements are increasingly required to anticipate,
analyze, and tailor available resources for effective and timely support of complex
weapons systems. Adaptive planning requires maintenance managers to embrace
change, innovation, and flexibility.

Physical, emotional, social, spiritual, family. They are all important. Least is emotional. Most is
family.

development.
Knowledge management, communication and group processes, leadership development, leading
and managing change, organizational culture, and organizational leadership.
