Throughoutthe planner the children will learn new
Spelling
words that are related to our inquiry and will use
them in different contexts. They will also learn to
write reports explaining the natural phenomena
they are exploring.
In spelling, our focus will be on words with long
vowel sounds, in addition to high frequency words
that are related to the planner.
Children will explore a variety of fiction and
nonfiction texts that are related to the planner.
We will continue to explore plural nouns with the
focus on nouns ending in “y”.

Throughout this planner the children
will explore 2-digit subtraction and
understand patterns and numbers to a
thousand using manipulatives and place
value charts. Also the children will
continue solving problems using
different strategies.

Throughout this planner, the children will

inquire into how the Sun and the Earth are
connected in the system. They will explore
phenomena of day and night, seasons, the
phases of the moon, and tides through
different activities.

In relation to the planner, the children will

explore the concept of time change
depending on the location of the country
and the position of the earth with respect
to the sun.

Music:

Students will be introduced to “The Upward and Downward Melody” and to

“Introduction and Coda” through singing, playing, writing, moving and listening.

PYP : In this planner students will get to know about Vivaldi.Students will listen
to “The Four Seasons” and try to match the seasons to its music. Students will
explore the “Mime” in this planner. They will translate the pictures in their
imagination to movements.

P.E.:
Strand: athletics
 Students explore running, jumping and throwing activities.
 Experiment with different ways of travelling, throwing and jumping,
increasing their awareness of speed and distance.
 Understand why exercise is good for fitness, health and well-being.
 Describe what happens to their heart, breathing and temperatures
during different types of athletic activity.
 Evaluate their own and others’ work and suggest ways to improve it.
