Seasons Greetings from MSSI !

We are pleased to share with you that with the support and encouragement of our Donors and Well-wishes, the
Multiple Sclerosis Society of India’s Mumbai Chapter has successfully completed 25 years of service to persons
afflicted with Multiple Sclerosis.

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a disease of the Central Nervous System affecting men & women in the prime of their
lives. It occurs without any known cause and is incurable despite intensive research. However its progress and
consequences can be treated in order to improve the quality of life of the sufferers & their caretakers.

The Multiple Sclerosis Society of India is a Charitable Non-Profit Voluntary Organisation working with and for the
welfare of persons afflicted with this disease. We have nine Chapters all over the country, with our Registered
Office in Mumbai. This organization is affiliated to Multiple Sclerosis International Federation (MSIF) based in
London (www.msif.org ). All of our work is carried out by committed volunteers and MS Persons themselves,
with dedication and complete transparency. We have greatly grown in strength and are presently offering a
variety of services to our MSPs, reaching out to hundreds of families all over Mumbai and India. In order to
further build upon our success in offering life altering services under the WHO recommended ‘Quality of Life’
banner, in our 25th year we appeal to you to help us continue our mission.

This year on the occasion of our Silver Jubilee and World MS Day we are bringing out a Souvenir
cum Handbook specially designed to help patients & families deal with the challenges of living with
this debilitating and as yet incurable disease. This publication can be referred to by MSPs,
Caregivers, Service providers, Doctors and hospitals. We are enclosing an Advertisement booking
Form for our Souvenir Handbook 2010 which will be circulated all over India. We look forward to
your generous support, in order to further our work in this field by way of general donations or by
advertisements.

The World Multiple Sclerosis Day is held annually on the last Wednesday of May. On 26 th May 2010
we plan to create a Global impact by making this day a memorable one. There will be an
Entertainment Programme by and for MS Patients, followed by a Human Chain formed all over
India, showing our solidarity towards the cause. On this occasion we will be felicitating Dr.
B.S.Singhal, our Chairperson, for his immense support and it fills us with pride that he has been
the recipient of the Dhanavantri Award this year. The programme will be held at the Centenary
Hall, Masina Hospital, Byculla where we hope to see you all.

Let’s make a strong effort to create a Silver Lining, bringing in the much needed glow around their darkening
cloud!
