Abstract
With the fast development of computer technology, the software projects are
growing in size and complexity. Software experts have recently sought to develop
a more systematic and formal approach in the design, development and
implementation of their software. This new approach has become necessary
because the traditional methods of system development often yielded software
characterized by late diversity, costliness, unreliability, and non-maintainability
and nonuse ability.
In this new age of computing every thing has been computerized, so how can we
become isolate and untouched from this environment. Thats why keeping this
thing in mind and an opportunity or probably a creativity to do such a task
different and unique from others, we thought a way to develop this software.
Today the World Wide Web has become widely accepted as the worlds largest
information resource.
These information are generally available for users who have accessible Internet
connection. However, the problem known as digital divide still exists among
people who live in rural areas, especially of developing countries. To alleviate this
problem, we have developed a search engine tool called Offline search with the
purpose of managing, archiving and retrieving contents obtained from the own
created Database.
The main task involves user entering query through the interface and the tool
looking up from the index and returning search results to the user. Since the
contents and their in- dexes are stored on the removable media, the retrieval
process can be done without the Internet connection. Another advantage is that the
tool could yield search results which are more focused than those from regular

search engines because the Web contents are selected and filtered by the
administrator to match the real in- formation need of the users
While keeping in mind the user will find an easy and friendlier user interface to
perform his/her task. The software has been made so user friendly that any person
can use it easily without having any computer experience. On the contrary the
software has been made so secure and tight that none of the other user can harm,
distort or retrieve any kind of information from the software. While designing the
overall functioning of the software, points have been kept in mind to provide most
useful information at just the click of the mouse. The overall designing of the
database is such that redundancy has been reduced and changes done at one table
are reflected at the other tables.

Chapter 1:
INTRODUCTION TO PROJECT

1.1 OVERVIEW
The present Approach is given to the Information technology. I.T. is a new and fresh
integrated approach and a key to unlock all the intricate problems of our modern era. This
technology tends to cater all our needs. It is not only an Integrated Approach, but also
job-oriented & concrete device to aware us of the up-to-date skill and knowledge.
This branch of science plays a vital and significant role in catering to education,
information, recreation & why not? I.T is instructive as well. It is an instrument of
bringing us to a realm of technology. It has entirely revolutionized the vista of the modern
world. It has made the modern life easier, softer, better, happier and more prosperous.
I.T has boosted progress beyond description. It has given us the safest & the most
concrete means of instruction i.e. computer, Internet, E-mail, E-commerce, Website and a
lifeline for most of our problems.

The software has been designed to successfully implement the processes of a Fashion
World Website. It keeps a track of all the operations involved in the daily dealings of the
Buying and selling of Fashionable products online. Effective technology

requires a

trusting, caring, functional relationship behind it.

Technical requirement is quite high due to security considerations and usage of animated
pictures. The debacles of application have created tremendous pressures on the developer
because he has to think in a much broader range not only satisfying clients needs but also
attracting potential customers.
We have tried to provide good reporting feature to help the users so that I can make their
work easy and simpler.

As the present world is progressing, the new emerging technologies and systems are
7

growing day-by-day, keeping the same in mind this system is designed in a very modular
way.

Today in the era of information technology, it is the need of hour, to have a fast
information processing system capable of providing processed data at the right time to
the right person and place.

1.2 Existing system

The existing system is very time consuming and less efficient.
Today, computer is a very efficient tool that helps people to develop his/her working
skills efficiently with less effort. The popularity of computer has made life easier for
human being. People have no longer needed to rely on other for simple things such as
sending a message through computer, or surfing, or surfing the web for getting
information and independence is exhilarating.

Login Account: User cant access the system until it enters correct password. It
means no one can use it without password. It is full of protection

Adding a new member record: User can registered very easily through this
website and get unique id and password .Through this he can login .

Complain: User can complain to admin if they have any problem .Admin can
revert it.

1.3 Limitation of existing system

8

The addition, modification and updating is done manually, which is a typical task

to handle and manual system is an error prone system.

Data is not secured any one can retrieve details easily, no password protection.
Maintenance of the user details is very tedious work.
Only expert or good programmers run that application.
Difficult to retrieve the details stored in files.
It needs a regular maintenance so it is not the cost effective.
It is difficult for a naive user to understand and use it.

1.4 Scope of proposed Project

This project can be very easily used in the process of various
purposes in making Fashion World. Customer can access their
account by using the sign in option. Customer can also Buy
,Order fashionable products and cloths . New visitor can join the
site by using the signup option.

Chapter 2:
SYSTEM ANALYSIS AND DESIGN

2.SYSTEM ANALYSIS
10

The first phase of our project is ANALYSIS PHASE. 50% of the total time in solving the
project is allotted for this phase. System analysis is the analysis of the problem that the
organization will try to solve with an information system. It consists of defining the
problem, identifying its causes, specifying the solution, and identifying the information
requirements that must be met by a system solution. System Analysis is an important
activity that takes place when at building new Information Systems or changing existed
ones.
System analysis refers to investigation into the system operation and possible changes to
the system. System analysis uses the understanding of the existing system and its
problems to design that eventually built a better system. They must also determine that
users may require a new system. It must spent a lot of time talking to users and finding
out that what are the problems that the user find with the system, and what they expect
from it.
The Analysis Phase has the following sub-phases: 2.1 FEASIBILITY STUDY
When complex problems and opportunities are to be defined, it is generally desirable to
conduct a preliminary investigation called FEASIBILITY STUDY. A feasibility study is
conducted to obtain an overview of the problem and to roughly assess whether the
feasible solutions exist prior to committing substantial resources to an information
systems development project. Feasibility study involves investigating the information
needs of the prospective end users and the objectives, constraints, basic resource
requirements, costs, benefits and feasibility of a proposed project.
By intent, the feasibility study is very rough analysis of the viability of the project. It is,
however, a highly desirable checkpoint that should be completed before committing more
resources.
The outcome of the feasibility study is very clear. So, depending upon the aspect on
which feasibility is being done is categorized into following classes:

Technical feasibility
11

Economical Feasibility

Operational Feasibility

2.1.1 Technical Feasibility

In technical Feasibility, the following issues are taken into consideration:

Whether the required technology is available or nor?

Whether the required resources are available

Manpower-programmers, testers and debuggers
Software/Hardware

Therefore, it is mainly concerned with the satisfying equipment i.e. hardware and
software that will successfully satisfy the user requirements. The technical needs of the
system may vary, but might include:

The facility to produce outputs in a given time.

Response time under certain conditions.

Ability to process a certain volume of transaction at a particular speed.

Facility to communicate data to a distant location

After examining the technical feasibility, we give more importance to the configuration
of the system than the actual make of the hardware. The configuration gives the complete
and true picture of the systems requirements. The proposed system can be operated on a
two PC. The PC will have its own color monitor, keyboard and mouse. And it will also
require a peripheral device i.e. a printer. The computer system should have enough speeds
of input and output to achieve a good quality printout. The software, which has been used
in the proposed system, is Microsoft Access. These soft wares are very popular and easily
available in the market. The system can be upgraded from time to time when new
versions of software are available from either the Internet or in the market. If by any
chance our operating system doesnt support a particular type of hardware then we can
install the hardware equipment again using its device driver. And if we dont have the
device driver available then we can download that particular device driver using the
Internet to suit to our requirements.
12

The main problem of running after the programmer who developed the system or
generated the system as now any software engineer will be able to solve the problem,
which may occur in the future. It is also important to consider the monetary factors also.
Since it might happen that developing a particular system may be technically possible but
it may require huge investments and benefits may be less. For evaluating this, economical
feasibility of the proposed system is carried out.
2.1.2 Economical Feasibility
It is the most frequently used method for evaluating the effectiveness of the system. The
procedure is to determine the benefits and savings that are expected from the system in
comparison with the cost involved. If the benefits outweigh the cost, then the system is
said to be economically feasible. Economic analysis is the most frequently used
technique for evaluating the effectiveness of a proposed system. It is more commonly
known as COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS.
Cost/Benefit analysis of the proposed system
Cost Analysis
In case of computerization, the cost involvement is not that high as it was 5-7 years back.
For this project to run successfully, the office initially requires a Desktop computer, a
printer and a UPS to maintain continuous supply of electricity. The cost of installation
including the hardware and software will come around Rs.40, 000 with an annual
maintenance contract of Rs.10, 000.
Cost of stationary (ink cartridges, printing paper) involves approximately Rs.15, 000
annually. The cost of electricity is incurred at Rs.7, 000 per year.
One person has to be hired who have the knowledge about the operation of computers.
His salary will come about to be Rs.1, 20, 000 per year.
Miscellaneous expenditure will be around Rs.15, 000 per annum.

13

So the total cost will come around Rs.1, 97, 000 including all possible expenses plus a
one-time investment of Rs.40, 000.
Benefit Analysis
As it is necessary to do cost analysis of the developed project, it is also very essential to
do benefit analysis along with it. The analysis of the benefit arising from the use of the
software named Issue Management System has been done in a very efficient manner.
The points that have been kept in mind while performing the task of benefit analysis of
the software are as follows:
1.

Stationary cost
The cost of purchasing stationary is also very high. It includes the cost of record registers
to maintain records of the Employees, Projects running and the issues given to the
Employees, pens, cost of photocopying daily. The approximate cost of stationary is
between Rs.30000 and Rs.35000. But, after the implementation of the proposed software,
all the record maintenance has become fully computerized; this step would save a big
amount of money, which was previously used for purchasing the stationary. Now, all the
work for which a large amount of stationary was required before can now be done using a
computer.
2.1.3 Operational Feasibility
It is mainly related to human organizational and political aspects. For operational
feasibility study we appointed a small group of people, which included the office
employees. This group worked with the new system and found that the system was very
user friendly, and very efficient. It was found that no special training was required to
operate the system. The burden of the project manager who wants to give the issue to
other employees and other staff members was reduced. It takes about 5 minutes to enter
the issue details as compared to the 30-40 minutes of the manual system. And the
14

employees found that they can prepare the statistical reports with more speed, accuracy
and in very less time.
1.2 Requirement analysis
Requirement analysis is the process of understanding the problem and the requirements
for a workable solution. Once the requirement has been gathered they become the basis
for Requirements Analysis.

Chapter 3:
CONCEPTUAL DESIGN

3.1 Design Methodology

18

The design of an information system is the overall plan or model of the system. It
consists of all the specifications that give the system its form and structure.
System design involves first the logical design and then the physical construction of the
system. The logical design describes the structure and characteristics of features, like the
outputs, inputs, files, databases and procedures. The physical construction, which follows
the logical design, produces actual program software, files and a working system.

Object Design
Software Design is the first of three technical activities design, Code generation, and
test that are required to build and verify the software. Each activity transforms
information in a manner that ultimately results in validated computer software.

The Design task produces a data design, an architectural design, an interface design and
component design.
The Design of an information system produces the details that clearly describe how a
system will meet the requirements identified during system analysis. The system design
process is not a step by step adherence of clear procedures and guidelines. When I started
working on system design, I face different types of problems; many of these are due to
19

constraints imposed by the user or limitation of hardware and software available. Some
time it was quite difficult to enumerate the complexity of the problems and solutions
thereof since the variety of likely problems is so great and no solutions are exactly similar
however the following consideration I kept in mind during Design phase.

1.3 Dynamic Model

The basic objective of software engineering is to: develop methods and procedures for
software development that can scale up for large systems and that can be used to
consistently produce high quality software at low cost and with a small cycle time. That
is, the key objectives are consistency, low cost, high quality, small cycle time, and
scalability.
The basic approach that software engineering takes is to separate the development
process from the software. The premise is that the development process controls the
quality, scalability, consistency, and productivity. Hence to satisfy the objectives, one
must focus on the development process. Design of proper development process and their
control is the primary goal of the software engineering. It is this focus on the process that
distinguishes it from most other computing disciplines.
To better manage the development process and to achieve consistency, it is essential that the
software development be done in phases.

Functional Model (Different Phases Of The Development Process)

1) Requirement Analysis:
Requirement analysis is done in order to understand the problem the software system is to
solve. The problem could be automating an existing manual process, developing a new
automated system, or a combination of the two. The emphasis in requirements analysis is
on identifying what is needed from the system, not how the system will achieve its goals.
There are at least two parties involved in the software development-a client and a
developer. The developer has to develop the system to satisfy the clients needs. The
developer does not understand the clients problem domain, and the client does not
understand the issues involved in the software systems. This causes a communication
gap, which has to be adequately bridged during requirements analysis.
2) Software Design:
The purpose of the design phase is to plan a solution of the problem specified by the
requirements documents. This phase is the first step in moving from the problem domain
to the solution domain. Starting with what is needed, design takes us toward how to
satisfy the needs. The design of a system is perhaps the most critical factor affecting the
quality of the software. It has a major impact on the later phases, particularly testing and
maintenance.
The design activity is divided into two phases: System Design and Detailed Design. In
system design the focus is on identifying the modules, whereas during detailed design the
focus is on designing the logic for each of the modules.

22

3) Coding:
The goal of the coding phase is to translate the design of the system into code in a given
programming language. Hence during coding, the focus should be on

developing

programs that are easy to read and understand, and not simply on developing programs
that are easy to write.
4) Testing:
Testing is the major quality control measure used during software development. Its basic
function is to detect errors in the software. Testing not only uncover errors introduced
during coding, but also errors introduced during the previous phases. Thus, the goal of
the testing is to uncover requirement, design and coding errors in the programs.
Therefore, different levels of testing are used. Testing is an extremely critical and time
consuming activity. It requires proper planning of the overall testing process. The output
of the testing phase is the test report and the error report. Test report contains the set of
test cases and the result of executing the code with these test cases. The error report
describes the errors encountered and the action taken to remove the errors.

5) Operation & maintenance phase

Software maintenance is a task that every development group has to face, when the
software is delivered to the customers site, installed and is operational. Software
maintenance is a very broad activity that includes error correction, enhancement of
capabilities, deletion of obsolete capabilities and optimization.

FUTURE SCOPE

Future Scope

27

This Application used in Fashion Industry. In this site when you user login into their
account. They can view the account details and active mini statement details. In future
we provide the search facility for Fashion details through the websites in its database and
return a list that matching your searching criteria. we will run online program. Which
include qualities?

Highly targeted Tender details is one of the best forms of direct marketing,
providing a technique that can be focused on the exact customer base and placing
the business in front of these prospects at a time when they are actively searching
for the tender or service.

Responsive - because a website can be targeted at a user when they are looking to
buy, then the response rates from this activity can be very high, although this can
also depend upon the quality of the website in converting visitors to sales or
enquiries.

Low entry costs - it is possible to start a search marketing campaign on a very

low budget to test the market or to generate initial business for a low fee. Some
level of search engine marketing should be built into the development costs of any
new business website to make it work as effectively as possible. Used carefully,
small companies can also easily compete alongside market leaders in many
business sectors.

28

Quick to implement - although the optimisation of a website can take months to

have a significant effect, setting up a pay-per-click advertising campaign can be
done within a day and will start to attract website visits within hours.

Flexible - pay-per-click advertising campaigns can be adjusted and developed in

response to results, providing a highly flexible form of advertising.

Measurable - most importantly, search engine marketing campaigns can provide

extensive data on the responses being achieved, allowing a high level of analysis
to support and develop the campaign.

Cost effective - any marketing campaign should generate a positive return on

investment and search engine marketing has proven time and again to outperform
most other forms of advertising, both online and offline.
