International: Introduction to
the Study ofFashion*
This oneyear course, based at London College of
Fashion, is a practical and theoretical introduction
to fashion business, fashion media and fashion
design. It is tailored for international students who
want to progress to an undergraduate course at
London College of Fashion, and includes English
language support. This will ensure that your
English language and academic study skills are at
an appropriate level for undergraduatestudy.
Orientation courses
UAL offers a nineweek orientation course at
Central Saint Martins, which enables international
students to develop the skills required for entry
onto a Foundation Diploma inArt and Design.

Six Colleges,
one University
The six Colleges that make up University of the
Arts London offer a wealth of courses at further
education, undergraduate, postgraduate and
research levels. The disciplines we cover include:
fashion and textiles; fine art; interior, spatial,
graphic and product design; media, animation
and communication; film and photography;
andperformance arts.
Our Colleges provide their own individual culture,
philosophy and focus, and members of our
academic staff bring their own interests and
expertise to the courses they teach.
Each College has excellent facilities, including
galleries, studios, media centres, photography
and textile labs, production departments,
performance venues and computer suites.
Students have access to a wide range of learning
resourcesincluding archives and special
collections dating back to the 15th centuryand
can borrow materials from all College libraries.

point during your studies you may need to seek
support with issues affecting your personal
or academic life. We offer help and advice to
international students in lots of ways. We will also
provide you with many opportunities to settle in,
make new friends, and enjoy your time with us.
Visas and immigration
Our Student Advice Service team has advisers
who are specially trained to help you with visa
and immigration issues, such as parttime work,
work while you study, police registration, visa
renewals, and visas to visit other countries during
your studies. They can also help you with other
issues, such as opening a bank account in the
UK, medical care and UK taxes and laws.

London is one of the most culturally diverse cities
