Upon successful completion of this assignment, students will be able to:
1. Plan and realize engineering objectives as a team.
2. Understand the significance of the Technician and the Engineer to the field of
electrical and computer engineering.
3. Value the need for engagement of professional development and life-long learning.

PROJECT DETAILS
Write a research paper on the significance of one of the following to the field of electrical
and computer engineering.
1. The Controls Engineer
2. The Controls Technician
3. The Communications Engineer
4. The Communications Technician
5. The Computer Engineer
6. The Computer Technician
7. The Energy Systems Engineer
8. The Energy Systems Technician
The paper must include, but is not limited to the following.
a) Their roles and functions in industry.
b) The career path that must be taken to become certified.
c) The job of the technician/ engineer in relation to that of the engineer/ technician.
d) The steps that must be taken in order to keep abreast with changing technology.
Students will be taken on a field trip to an engineering-based company, where interviews
can be conducted to assist with their research papers.
The research paper must be between 25 30 pages in length. Failure to comply with this
requirement will result in the paper being marked zero.

FURTHER DETAILS
Group Presentation:
All students are required to be seated by 12:45PM. At 1:00 PM, no entry will
be allowed.
Each group will be given 5 minutes to set up and 15 minutes to present their
research paper.
Dress Code: Business Attire
