Background:
Jute, the Golden Fibre as it is popularly known as, is a natural
versatile fibre which is 100% bio-degradable and thus totally
environment friendly. The raw fibre has a natural silky lustrous
appearance. It has high tensile strength and low extensibility.
Jute is one of the most versatile natural fibres having
applications in packaging, textiles and non-textile sectors.
Being annually renewable and bio degradable, it plays a very
important role in environment protection. Worldwide concerns
for saving the nature and being more sustainable have to be
inbuilt in our minds and we should work in accordance. Using
jute or any other natural item, we can contribute to the healthy
growth of the society and support the greener environment.
Jute has another major potential of being turned into paper.
Substituting wood pulp with jute pulp in papermaking implies a
more sustainable solution for Bangladesh. Jute is abundantly
available in Bangladesh. Jute is based on its chemical and
morphological characteristics highly suitable for papermaking.
Papermaking from jute seems to be economically viable and
also papermaking from jute would contribute positively to
Bangladesh's urgently needed economic diversification as well
as to poverty reduction. Moreover, there are no intrinsically
1.In the rise of green economy the demand for jute product will
increase day by day.
2. Because of being a high tensile product, variety of household
product can be easily made by jute fiber
3.Government is also taking steps to rejuvenate jute industry.
Threats:
1. Because of the rise of other synthetic cheap product, jute
products might not be able to create an effect on the market.
2.Competing with other jute growing country.
3.Because of the rise of synthetic product, there is less
opportunity of exporting jute now a days.
Green marketing of jute and jute products:
Environmentally-responsible or Green Marketing is a business
practice that takes into account consumer concerns about
promoting preservation and conservation of the natural
environment. Green marketing campaigns highlight the
superior environmental protection characteristics of a
companys products and services. A Jute and jute product
marketing is green marketing because its an eco-friendly
product. Bangladesh is very rich in bio-diversity. A wide range
of flora is found here. Though Bangladesh is famous for jute
and allied fibers, garments industries swept in and have
developed due to relative advantage & cheap labor cost. As
there is the multifibre concept of blending jute with other
natural and synthetic fibers, jute has bright future for using
them in the various textile areas. Taking in view the prospects,
the govt. of Bangladesh has started the diversification of jute
uses with its limited resources. It needs wide support for
production and marketing of such diversified products.
Consequently the govt. of Bangladesh initiated policy program

Conclusion
The Kyoto protocol global climate change has resulted an
acceleration of transition to words a sustainable and more
environmental friendly economy. This transition is realized by
shifting the agricultural crops from food to energy and shift in
the use of petro chemical to renewable resources, such as nonfood cash crops. Jute being lingo cellulose plant fiber crop
