ASEAN Community Student Camp

July 8, 2013 - Students from ASEANcountries are meeting together in Thailand to

promote a better understanding of their different practices and cultures.
The six-day camp will be based in Nakhon Nayok province and will accommodate
students aged between 15 and 20 years old. They will be working in a team,
sharing and networking activities designed to increase their knowledge of the
region and its cultures.
They have also taken part in debates that address isues in a number or areas,
including trade. In addition, participating students are also preparing
presentations to demonstrate their respective countrys cuisine, arts and culture.
Its about co-existence, understanding and the value of being ASEAN. Said
Chinnapat Bhumirat, the Obec Secretary General. Uthraa Lyer, a 12 th grader from
Malaysia, said she expected all ASEANcountries to come together and behave
like a muticultural community in which everyone could work to save the
environment.
