Background:
Each year the City invites applications for grants-in-aid. The deadline for applications is
February 28 each year. The budget for 2016 is $25,000. There is no carry forward of unspent
funds for future years, as per Policy F-13. Policy F-13 also limits the maximum grant amount,
for any one applicant, to $2,000 each year.

Options / discussion:
The Finance Committee reviewed 21 grant-in-aid applications at its meeting held on March 8,
2016. The total requested financial assistance was $31,583.25. The recommendations reflect
the Committees determination. The recommended awards total $20,103.75.
Financial / Risk Implications:
The recommended awards total $20,103.75 which is within the Citys budget.
