MARUGOTO: Japanese Language and Culture

Japanese - Language Course for Beginners (A1)

Do you know a little Japanese? Learn more basic conversation!


If you have studied Japanese for about 30 hours - Why not enroll in this
course which starts on February 19, 2013?
This course is for beginners who are interested in Japanese language and culture. Communicative language
activities are provided and used within the context of Japanese settings, such as - traveling, shopping etc. You will
be able to speak simple Japanese right away. Reading and writing of Japanese characters will not be taken in the
course.

February 19 to April 2 (12 meetings, 24 hours)

Days:

Tuesdays and Thursdays

Time:

12:30 p.m.~ 2:30 p.m.

Venue:

The Japan Foundation, Manila (23/F Pacific Star Bldg.)

Fee:

P3,800 Inclusive of 2 full-color text books for new students

Age:

At least 17 years old

Maximum of 16 persons

At the end of the course, learners will be able to :


1. Understand and use familiar every day expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of
needs of a concrete type, such as - how to get to a destination, how to do some shopping.
2. Ask and answer questions about personal details such as ones hobby and schedule.
3. Express ones feelings and preferences.
4. Interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

Application Procedure:
The application form can be accessed from the JFM website (http://www.jfmo.org.ph)

* For those who have taken MARUGOTO: Japanese Language & Culture, MODULE 1 course, submit the
application form together with the payment on or before the deadline, February 18, 2013 (Monday) to the
Japan Foundation, Manila.

* For those who have not taken MARUGOTO: Japanese Language & Culture, MODULE 1 course, there will be
a qualifying level check test and interview scheduled on Feb. 14 (Thurs.) and Feb. 15 (Fri.), anytime from
2:00 p.m. ~ 6:00 p.m. Applicants must submit the application form by email or fax by Feb. 13 (Wed.) and come
to the Japan Foundation, Manila for the level check test on either of the specified schedule. Level check test &
interview will take about one hour.

First come first served basis.

Minimum number of participants required for the conduct of the course: at least 10 enrollees.
