through facilitator-led
training in order to
qualify learners on a
national and
international level for
the South African job
market.
How do we C2U?
Progress
The purpose of the assessment is to inform learners of their learning progress and to enable facilitators to adjust their instruction to the needs of the learners.
Throughout the formative assessment process, the results and progress of the learner will be continually discussed, reviewed and further development strategies
will be implemented to improve learning programmes and instruction. Each learner will be issued with two academic transcripts during their year of study in order
to monitor their progress.
All programme material is included in the fee.* CTU spends a considerable amount of time assessing and evaluating study materials. Tried and tested programme
manuals are used and our alliance with registered vendors gives us access to original resources to choose from. (*Excluding ICB programmes). Refer to page 10
for more information.
Training Methodology
The facilitator-led programmes are developed and updated regularly according to new technological developments and market trends. Small classes ensure that
a great deal of attention is given to each individual with emphasis on practical training.

Dr. Seuss explains computers crash, they mash, you bash to no avail. Then next you
wonder, ponder and guess; you must be still to comprehend. You tap the keys, you wiggle
the mouse, you tap the screen but nothings seen. You check the cord and the power strip,
its not a Ford or flower tip. What can you do, quick as a flash, read on my friend to see the
end.
If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port, and the bus is interrupted at a very last resort,
and the access of the memory makes your floppy disk abort, then the socket packet pocket
has an error to report.
If your cursor finds a menu item followed by a dash and the double-clicking icon puts your
window in the trash; and your data is corrupted cause the index doesnt hash; then your
situations hopeless and your systems gonna crash!
Dr. Seuss
Explains
Why Computers
Crash
If the label on the cable on the table at your house, says the network is connected to
the button on your mouse, but your packets want to tunnel to another protocol, thats
repeatedly rejected by the printer down the hall, and your screen is all distorted by the side
effects of gauss, so your icons in the window are as wavy as a souse; then you may as well
reboot and go out with a bang, Cuz sure as Im a poet, the suckers gonna hang!
When the copy of your floppys getting sloppy in the disk, and the macro-code instructions
cause unnecessary risk, then youll have to flash the memory and youll want to RAM your
ROM. Quickly turn off the computer and be sure to tell your Mom!

If youre an entrepreneur you have heard the million reasons not to go into
business: Its too risky, you might go into debt, youll probably lose sleep, your social
life is kaput, and the list goes on. But even with all these uncertainties, people are still
attracted to the start-up world. There are just as many, if not more reasons to take the
leap and go start your own business. Here are just a few:
1. Your posterity. If youre a doctor, plumber or bus driver its hard to imagine you
passing your career on to your loved ones. But if you own your own business, thats
something you can pass on to the next generation. And be proud of it, because you
created it.
2. Job security. Have you ever been laid off, downsized, or fired? If you have, you get
this. With entrepreneurship the security lies in the fact you are your own boss. You run
the show and dont have to worry about getting let go.
3. Skills. People ask me how I learned about SEO, social media, pay-per-click, PR
and all the other marketing techniques I utilize. I tell them that I was forced to learn
them, otherwise I wouldnt survive. The same way I was forced to learn how to build
a spreadsheet, how to balance a budget, how to negotiate leases and countless other
skills I picked up because I was the only resource I had. While developing new skills
can be tough and takes times, it can pay off in spades. These skills will be invaluable
throughout your life.
4. Reinvention. Ive started and sold several companies over my career. And every
time I sell a company, Im presented with an opportunity to reinvent myself all over
again. On the flip side, if I had received my law degree, Id be a lawyer (not a lot of
room to recreate myself). But as an entrepreneur, I get to be whatever I want to be.

What is RPL?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process of
identifying your knowledge and skills against a qualification or
part thereof. The process involves the identification, mediation,
assessment and acknowledgement of knowledge and skills
obtained through informal, non-formal and/or formal learning.
Gaining access
If you have considerable work experience, but you dont meet
the entry requirements of your chosen course, you may want to
apply for entry into a qualification. This is referred to as access.
The RPL application is evaluated against the entry requirements
of the qualification. If access is granted, the qualification on the
lower level is not awarded.
