Q.

4 Analysis
We interviewed 60 people, RDD and Non-RDD are equally
distributed. The question we proposed is Do governments ability
on carrying out policies affect peoples livelihood?. We test the
result of RDD and Non-RDD to find out whether they are different or
not.

If p1 is the proportion of the RDD who reply "yes" and p2 is the

proportion of the Non-RDD who reply "yes," then we are interested
in testing the null hypothesis:
H 0 : p1 =p 2 :
Alternative hypothesis:
H A : p1 p2
We have the significant level at = 0.05
According to table, the Z-value of critical value is

z= 1.96

The overall sample proportion is:

20+23 43
^p=
= =0.7 1667
30+30 60
So we test the Z value of H 0 vs H A
We assume the null hypothesis is true, therefore

: p1 p2=0

Z=

( 0.76670.6667 )

0.7 1667 ( 10.7 1667 )

z=0.859

( 301 + 301 )

Thus, we reject null hypothesis H 0 if z 1.96 or if z 1.96 .

In this case we do not reject H 0 . Since H 0 is neither greater than
1.96 nor smaller than -1.96.
We can conclude that both RDD and Non-RDD do not differ a lot.

In the next step, we test the results of RDD and Non-RDD for
answering NO and Surely NO

If p1 is the proportion of the RDD who reply "NO" and p2 is the

proportion of the Non-RDD who reply "NO" ,then we are interested in
testing the null hypothesis:
H 0 : p1 =p 2 :

According to table, the Z-value of critical value is
The overall sample proportion is:

Thus, we reject null hypothesis H 0 if z 1.96 or if z 1.96 .

In this case we do not reject H 0 . Since H 0 is neither greater than
1.96 nor smaller than -1.96.
We can conclude that both RDD and Non-RDD methods do not differ
a lot.

We test the results of RDD and Non-RDD for answering different
opinions.
- To search out whether the general opinion of RDD and NonRDD respondents are different or not.
- The marks will calculated as different opinion as below:
Surely Yes: 4 marks, Yes: 3 marks, No: 2marks, Surely No: 1
marks
No comment results are treated as ineffective as they did
not represent any standpoint
- 4 marks will be the total marks of effective respondents

The results are as follows:

n1=100 marks (25 results effective)
n2=116 marks(29 result s effective)
y 1=77 marks
y 2=96 marks
