If stainless steel units are to be fitted in

areas where they may be subjected to
deliberate attack they should be
recessed below the surface of the wall.
A cavity should be constructed as
shown . The inner cavity should be 76 x
76 (mm) to a depth of at least 42mm.
The second cavity should be 91 x 91
(mm) and approx 7mm deep. The
galvanised socket box should be fitted
with two wood screws and suitable wall
plugs to ensure that the box is totally
secure. The cable entry should be either
rear or side entry. For iniital testing and
commissioning use conventional M3.5
countersunk fixing screws to secure the
call point. When it has been established
that the system is working correctly
replace these screws with security
screws. A gap filling epoxy cement
should be used to form a seal between
the stainless steel plate and the wall.

and where fitted a sounder follows

this convention

WARNING! The stainless steel version may have sharp edges. This is
not a problem post installation but please exercise care when handling
and during installation.
On the stainless steel versions of this product the jumbo LED is supplied loose to prevent
damage in transit. It should be clipped into place on installation.

S0610 Mounting Spacer

Although Stainless steel units are generally
intended for flush fitting using the galvanised
box provided they can be surface mounted using
the S0610 mock stainless steel mounting
spacer.
The galvanised box should be mounted in the
required position and the cable entries made.
The S0610 spacer is then placed over the box,
the relevant terminations made off and the plate
screwed down on to the box. The spacer is
therefore gripped between the wall and the
plate.
