DESCRIPTION

DEMOLITION OF CONCRETE BRICKWORK, BLOCK DRAIN, PUDU

CUT DRAIN, CONCRETE FLOOR, FOOTPATH AND RUBBLE
PITCHING WALL. (ITEM 2-2-1/SR 10)
Excavate using hydraulic excavator to and break up existing concrete
footpath, concrete floor, block drains, Pudu Cut drains, rubble wall and
brickwall in headwalls wingwalls,slabs and foundations of manholes and
culverts and drains and including drains of all types, pipes and
surrounds and get out and dispose of rubble at site to be provided by
Contractor or as directed by Engineer.
EXCAVATION FOR DRAIN LAYING, PIPE, BOX CULVERT, SUMPS,
MANHOLES, PIERS (EXCAVATE 2-2-6/SR 12)
Excavate to drain for drain laying to depth not exceeding 1.5m in
pre-approved length to minimise inconvenience to pedestrian and
vehicular traffic, get out and remove to a tip to be provided by the
contractor away from work site, including where directed cutting site
slopes to angles as specified. On completion of drain laying return
selected spoil and ram sides of drains. Include all necessary timbering.
HAND EXCAVATION (ITEM 2-2-9/SR 12)
Supply all necessary labour and tools for hand excavation, get out and
remove to a tip provided by the Contractor. On completion, return
selected spoil and ram.
CONCRETE TO DRAINS (ITEM 2-5-1/SR 14)
Provide and lay concrete (1:3:6 - 38mm aggregate) in base and
haunching to block drain, "Pudu Cut" drain and H.R.G.W channels all as
per details in Drawing No. JKAL 1260/1A, JKAL 1260/2A and JKAL
1260/40. Include for all mixing and placing as required.
CONCRETE IN PIPE CULVERT (ITEM 2-5-3/SR 14)
Provide and lay concrete (1:3:6 - 38mm agg.) in base and surround to
pipe culvert all as per Drawing No. JKAL 1260/3A. Include for all mixing
and placing as required.

GLAZED WARE HALF-ROUND CHANNEL (ITEM 2-8-3/SR 16)

Purchase best commercial quality straight 300mm G.W.H.R. channel in
600mm or 900mm lengths from approved manufacturer, transport to site
and lay as directed on prepared concrete bed (measured separately).
Include for jointing in cement mortar 1:3 and for all cutting and waste.
CONCRETE PIPE CULVERTS (ITEM 2-11-1/SR 19)
Purchase from approved manufacturer 450mm dia. butt-jointed spun
concrete pipes as specified, transport to site and lay on concrete bed all
as per detail in Drg SP/0003/11.90 (JKAL 1260/3A) pipe to'be class "X".
(Concrete base haunch/surround to be measured separately.)
BRICKLAYER & MASON (ITEM 2-15-2/SR 25)
Supply approved wire cut clay bricks and construct 225mm thick
brickwork walls in English bond over concrete foundations at
sides of inverts (measured separately). Include for laying and

jointing in cement mortar (1:3) and for rendering all exposed

surfaces with cement mortar 12 mm thick (1:3) where applicable
include for forming a recess 115x89/100/125 mm deep to receive
slabs.

RUBBLE WALL & RUBBLE PITCHING (ITEM 2-16-2/SR 26)

Supply all necessary materials and labour and construct mass limestone
rubble wall inclusive to sides of drain. The spalls to be 150mm to 225mm
sizes. Include for packing interstices with 1:3:6-19mm concrete and
jointing and flush pointing faces with cement mortar 1:3.
TURFING (ITEM 2-21-1/SR 31)
Supply blended soil as specified in Section "C" and spread to a
thickness not less than 75mm. Including for fertilizing with 'rock
phosphate' or 'NPK 15.15.15' as specified.
CONSTRUCTION OF NEW ROAD AND ROAD WIDENING
SUPPLY CRUSHER RUN (ITEM 4-2-7/ SR 42)
Supply crusher run stone from an approved quarry and spread over
formation, fill interstices with a proportion of smaller gauge stones
packed to a consolidated thickness or not less than 300 mm and roll in
two layers each of 100mm with a roller of not less than 8 tonne weight
true to line, camber and level.

SUPPLY BITUMEN EMULSION (ITEM 4-2-10/SR 42)

Supply cationic bitumen emulsion (RS-1K) and spread at an
approximate rate of 0.4 - 0.5 litres/m2 over consolidated road base.
PURCHASED & LAY PREMIXED (4-2-11/ SR 43)
Purchase approved premixed bituminous macadam (20mm nominal size
granite agg.) from approved manufacturer, transport to site, spread and
roll to a consolidated thickness of not less than 50 mm with a roller of
not less than 10 tonne weight or an approved vibratory roller as directed
by Enginneer.
