Literature Review
Effect of salary, training and motivation on job performance of employees
In the journal article of Effect of salary, training and motivation on job performance of
employees, it is said that job performance of employees is the main area of concern of the all
firm no matter they stand for profit or non-profit organization. The main purpose of the research
is to identify the effect of important factors such as salary and benefits on the job performance of
the employees.
The study indicates the link between three measures of organizational factors and job
performance perceived. By using regression analysis, findings of the study showed that salary,
training and motivation have a positive and significant relationship with job performance.
Among the 3 factors, salary has a stronger relationship with job performance than training and
motivation. This means that job performance of the employees can be increased to a sufficient
level by bringing a small increase in their salary. Other rewards and benefits attached to the
salary can also result greater change in job performance.
The study also will assist and guide top managers of the organization to obtain good
understanding of the factors that can enhance the job performance of the employee which will
organizational productivity.

The Wage Effects of High Performance Work Organisation in Manufacturing


In the research paper The Wage Effects of High Performance Work Organisation in
Manufacturing by Paul Osterman, it is to see that whether now-widespread innovative works
systems such as teams and quality programs are influenced by the wage determination. The
author examine on how new work system affected the performance of the employees and other
workers.
The key finding is that for core blue collar manufacturing employees, higher wages were
associated with High Performance Work Organisation(HPWO) system. The paper also show that
the reason why HPWO system might affect the wages and higher skill levels and computer based
technologies are also associated with higher wages. There is a mechanism which is independent
of skill and technology that leads to higher wages.
