FAFSAs (available at www.fafsa.ed.gov) by the end of February for first consideration.

SEED SCHOLARSHIP - MAINTAINING ELIGIBILITY

4.11.16

The student must make steady academic progress toward an associate degree, earning no fewer than 24 credit hours
required for full-time status in each academic year. The only time a SEED Scholarship recipient must be full-time is the first
semester following high school graduation. After the initial fall semester, students can take fewer than 12 credits, but they
must have 24 credits and a cumulative 2.5 grade point average at the end of the summer semester to receive the
scholarship during the following year.
The student must maintain continuous enrollment for both the fall and spring semesters in each successive academic year.
The student must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5. The cumulative grade point average will be
verified the day after summer session grades are reviewed to determine eligibility for the upcoming academic year.
If a student has a pending felony charge, or is convicted of a felony charge, the student and parent/legal guardian or
relative caregiver will notify the appropriate UD Financial Aid Office.
Students are eligible to participate in the SEED Scholarship program for a period not to exceed six continuous semesters.
SEED will not pay for any credits taken beyond the attainment of one associate degree.
If a student has not successfully completed 24 credit hours and obtained a cumulative 2.5 GPA by the end of the spring
semester, the student must successfully complete the remaining credit hours during the summer semester. The courses that
are not repetitive will be paid for by the SEED Scholarship Program which is subject to available funding. Courses that are
repeated will not be covered by the SEED Scholarship.
To maintain eligibility for the SEED Scholarship during the next academic year, the student should reapply for financial aid
by June 1.
First-time students who apply for year 1 SEED and do not receive it due to the availability of other financial assistance can
be considered for SEED for year 2 if they meet eligibility requirements at the end of year 1.
